Starting the season off with the question of whether or not we should trade Kobe Bryant to the Bulls for a handful of role players, the feelings of the Lakers fans were pretty much split 50/50. One side wanted him to stay and pleaded with him through all types of media. The other half was appalled that someone would dare request a trade from the greatest franchise ever! Even through this kind of turmoil in the beginning of the season, Kobe was still able to pull out an MVP season, which led to him FINALLY being recognized as the League MVP. Some would argue though that the true highlight of the season was when Mitch Kupchak then pulled off one of the greatest trades in Lakers History by getting rid of Kwame Brown and in exchange, getting a cornerstone of our future dynasty, Pau Gasol
