After going 3-3 on their 6-game grammy’s road trip, the lakers returned home and defeated the atlanta hawks 86-78, despite a season low 10 points from kobe bryant. Pau gasol had a game high 20 points and andrew bynum added 15. The win keeps the lakers 3 games behind the clippers in the loss column for 1st place in the pacific division.

So after these results, do the lakers still need gilbert arenas to help them out with the point guard situation? Lakers-nation-dot-com writer Daniel Buerge writes Kobe bryant endorses the thought of teaming up with arenas in the back court. Arenas reportedly looked explosive in his workout session earlier this week…and it was revealed that he had a procedure similar to the surgery kobe received in germany last summer. Agent “zero” still holds the staples center record for points scored by an opponent…going off for 60 back in 2006.

But not so fast! The LA Times reports that the lakers don’t have a serious interest in signing gilbert arenas! If the lakers don’t grab him, who will? How about the warrioirs?

CBS reports that Jerry West, who is a consultant for the warriors, attended arenas’s workout in bel-air. So who know’s what that could lead to.

Every laker fan knows that november 7, 1991 was the day that the world stopped when magic johnsons announced that he had attained the hiv virus.

“the announcement,” which tells the story of magic johnson and everything leading up to the day he held that memorable press conference, will be the next documentary by espn films. It’s set to debut march 11 at 9pm eastern time.

And now it’s time for our tweet of the week. And as you know the n-b-a is all about lin-sanitiy lately. Yesterday he hit the game winner against the toronto raptors. And because it was valentine’s day,

I thought this tweet by howard chen, sports director for fox toledo, seemed appropriate.

“lin-sanity again. Happy va-lin-tines day, everybody

To think….Jeremy lin was days away from being cut by the knicks. Now he’s not only become the latest nba sensation, but it seems like everyone is using his name to spell all kinds of words. Including “val-lin-tines day.” so thanks for that tweet howard, you are this week’s tweet of the week.

Well that’s going to do it for us be sure you come back tomorrow again where amy halvorsen will have the latest for you. And big shout out to examiner-dot-com for all the support.

For the fans, by the fans this is lakers nation-dot-com, i’m derek opina. Thanks for watching l-n-t-v! See you guys next time!
