Starting today, August 14th and running through Sunday, August 16th, the streets in front of Staples Center will be converted into a blacktop hoop haven for all the ballers of the SoCal region. Brought to you by Nike Hoops, this will be the first annual Lakers 3 on 3 basketball tournament, open to the public to come and enjoy.
There’s going to be 50 basketball courts running games all weekend long. With over $100,000 in total prizes on the line, you’re going to see some of the best street ballers in SoCal bringing their A-game to the parade route of the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers.
Former Lakers A.C. Green and Cedric Ceballos will be making their appearances as well as a slew of celebrity hoops fans like Michael Rappaport, Dean Cain, Sugar Shane Mosley and David Arquette just to name a few.
Along with all the bball action, there’s going to be celebrity 3 point contests, live entertainment from MTV’s top Pop Group, Mosaic, Lady Gaga’s DJ – Space Cowboy, the world famous Laker Girls and yes, Lakers Nation is going to be out there as well!

We’ll be giving away some CandyMan Shirts from LA Purple & Gold, so follow our Twitter account all weekend to find out where you can find us and get your own CandyMan Shirts. I’ll be hiding them around the event or I’ll just make you come find me to come and take a picture with your new shirt!
No matter what, come check out the event down at LA Live! The weather isn’t even close to being hot and it’s FREE to the public, so you don’t really have an excuse.
A portion of the proceeds generated from the event will be going to the Ronald McDonald Charities, so if you haven’t done your good deed for the year, come and check it out!
