Kobe, Mike D’Antoni See Immediate Impact With Nash’s Return

Kobe Bryant and Mike D'AntoniIt didn’t take long for the Lakers to see what kind of impact Steve Nash can have on the team, in fact, Kobe Bryant and Mike D’Antoni saw it in just one game.

Nash came back from his knee injury on Saturday and he helped the Lakers take down the Golden State Warriors in an overtime thriller in Oakland. Even though Kobe Bryant continued to dominate the ball in terms of shot attempts, Nash still did a great job running the offense. He set his teammates up for easy looks and it is clear that the point guard will make everyone on this team better.

Bryant and D’Antoni spoke to Yahoo! Sports and talked about what Nash did in his first game back from injury.

“He orchestrated things,” Kobe Bryant said about Nash. “He got us in some sets and some actions and that’s exactly what a great point guard is supposed to do. He lined us up and saw things that were executing well for us and he went to them.”

“I think that we’re a completely different team with him out there,” Mike D’Antoni said.

D’Antoni worked alongside Nash in Phoenix and there is no doubt that D’Antoni’s offense works best when there is a point guard like Nash who has the ball in his hands. Nash has the ability to find nice looks for his teammates, but he is dynamic enough to knock down big shots when the team needs it.

In Nash’s game against the Warriors, he scored 12 points and nine assists.
