Kobe Loses At Ping-Pong, Orders Table To His House

Kobe Bryant’s competitiveness is the stuff of legend. That will to win extends far beyond the basketball court, as Bryant expects to prevail at everything.

But sometimes, that just isn’t the case, such as a Thanksgiving 2013. Bryant set up an entire dinner for the Lakers, who were on the road at the time. There happened to be a ping-pong table in the room and Lakers Reporter Mike Trudell was dominating the field.

Trudell challenged Bryant and that is all it took for Bryant to step up. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned for Kobe, via Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding:

Trudell keeps preying on Bryant’s weak backhand, however. Bryant keeps cursing and keeps losing. Someone has called next, but when the game ends, Bryant doesn’t budge.

Bryant would try his hand against Trudell a second time, but the result was the same. Even after Trudell had defeated him a second time, the war was not over:

Even as it ends, Trudell isn’t sure it’s quite over. There’s a look in Bryant’s eye that says: OK. But whether tomorrow or next year or the day that I die, I am going to beat you. Within the week, word reaches Trudell. Bryant has ordered an official Olympic Ping-Pong table to be delivered to his house.

There is no word on whether or not the two resumed their ping pong battle at a later date, but when they do Kobe is sure to be much improved from their first encounter.

Kobe wants to be the best at everything he does, and when he loses at something, he does everything in his power to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Mike Trudell better be practicing.

Kobe Bryant should try Beer Pong with hot chicks,it’s much funner.

  • Beastley

Kobe probably already does play Beer Pong lol.

    • TheDonVito

I’m pretty sure he just skips right to the hot chicks part. lol

so what lakers r just gonna stay at 13 for the whole year I thought they wanted to fill out the roster they cant go into the season with a 13 man roster what happened to Beasley.theres still a lot of guys left wwhat if somebody gets injured than ur screwed go sign a big man a shot blocker like ekpe udoh I would love that and sign a sf or an extra veteran pg like toney douglas

    • Al Haldie

f they are going to get more players – they will get them when they start practice -they have asked other players to come to the practice , they will take a look at that time….

      • joshhh

I hate it when teams fill out there roster wit college kids rookies that nobody knows and have no nba experience if they wanted to win now for kobe go get someone left on the market in the nba that’s actually played in the nba instead of these college kids. guys like earl clark, beasley, bynum, okkafor, ekpe udoh, toney douglas etc.. all those players r pretty much lik our whole team trying to make a name for themselves theres no difference between Wesley or Beasley or clark or between udoh or okafor compared to davis and boozer lets say we’ve would of gotten udoh instead of davis thhan there will al this hype about him instead of davis there all players wit potential I actually think clark’s better than wesley

They are probably reserving a spot for a breakout player in camp.

You can only dress 13 players for a game. If they sign anyone else, it will be someone they can stick in the D-league.

Something I would do. If I’m not good, I’ll get good at it. Lol

Happy BDAY to the future GOAT KOBE

with the love trade the wolfs are in full blown tank mode. the lakers should call up okc and miny and make a three team deal

okc gets: kevin martin, rob sacre
miny gets: nash, perkins, 2 second round picks from lal, 1 second round pick okc
    lal gets: pekovic.

okc does this because they get the third score they need in martin again and according to per and other stats rob is an up grade to perkins.

miny does this because they are in full blown tank mode. they get to load up with future picks and get rid of two players that will help them win games.

lal does this because pek is a legit 7 footer who could start and help us win now. + we could trade him next offseason to get a pick or two to help us for the future.

this would be a win for all teams involved.

I think I can beat Kobe in ping pong

  • CORKY CARROLL

This cracks me up because I did the exact same thing at one time. Put a table in my house and practiced against the wall and laid waist to everybody who came by, eventually crushing the dude who had beaten me in the first place. I laid claim to the best backhand slam on my block, hahaha. Go Kobe, I feel your mission. Go Lakers
