Kobe Expresses Frustration With Lakers’ Loss to the Magic

The Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Orlando Magic last night was perhaps the most disappointing defeat of the young season. Not only did the likely lottery bound Magic team score 113 on the Lakers, but they did it in front of the Staples Center crowd.

The Lakers currently stand at 8-9, something not many people had expected. Even though the team is still without star point guard Steve Nash, it still has enough talent to win games over opponents like the Orlando Magic.

Kobe Bryant is one of the stars on this Lakers team and he is giving it his all night-in and night-out. However, many of his teammates are not matching his level of play and determination.

Bryant spoke to Fox Sports West after the loss to the Magic and expressed his frustration with how the Lakers are playing.

“I’ll kick everybody’s *** in this locker room if it doesn’t happen,” Bryant said after a 113-103 loss to the Orlando Magic at Staples Center. Yes, the 6-10 Orlando Magic. “It’s the attitude you have to have. Metta (World Peace) is the same way. Dwight (Howard) has it in him as well. Even though he smiles a lot, he cares a lot about this. Come hell or high water, this has to get done.”

The Lakers made the coaching change earlier this season, but at a certain point the players have to be accountable too. Although the Lakers have the talent to beat almost every team, that talent has to play hard every game. This Lakers franchise, and especially Kobe Bryant, are used to winning championships and they do not accept mediocrity.

A lot of work is left for this Lakers team and the players need to get their acts together. If they face another disappointing loss to a sub-par team, that locker room will not be a fun place.
