Last night was bitter sweet for the Lakers although Kobe Bryant surpassed his former teammate Shaquille O’neal’s record to now become the NBA’s 5th all time scorer with 28,601 points. However, they continue to suffer away from the Staples Center receiving their 9th road loss of the season bringing their total road record to 3-9.
Head Coach John Keuster filled in for Mike Brown in last nights game against the 76ers after coach Brown was suspended and fined $25,000 for making contact with a game official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection in the Lakers’ loss to the Jazz Saturday night in Utah.
The Lake show is half way home on their 6 game road trip as they take on the Boston Celtics thursday night before heading to NY Fri to play Carmelo Anthony and Knicks at the Garden.
Weekly Rumor Report:
According to Chris Broussard of ESPN the Los Angeles Lakers have contacted the Houston Rockets about their point guard Jonny Flynn. Broussard is also reporting that the New York Knicks have also asked Houston about Flynn, but that the Rockets aren’t interested in what the Knicks have to offer.
Speaking of trade rumors. Everyone keeps talking about getting Dwight Howard we DON’T NEED a center, we have the best in the west but we definitely NEED a Point Guard. Twitter followers leave me some feedback on how we are going to get one? Who is the missing piece to puzzle that can bring another O’brien trophy to LA. Let me know? Hit me up @AdianaVega
