Kobe Bryant Will Not Play in Pro-Am Showcase Game Saturday

After an exciting performance in his surprise Drew League appearance, speculation began to grow as people wondered if Bryant would appear in a pro-am event this Saturday in Washington D.C.

Following the game where Bryant scored 43 points and connected on a game winning jumper, Drew League commissioner Dino Smiley asked Bryant if he would be interested in playing again this Saturday.

According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, “we asked Kobe and he smiled at it, but he didn’t commit,” Smiley said.

The Drew League is receiving extra recognition this summer after multiple NBA players have suited up for its games. While the league has seen several NBA stars play in the past, this summer has become much more notable due to the increasingly frustrating NBA lockout.

Bryant joined players such as Kevin Durant and LeBron James, both who played in the Drew League this summer.
