All the attention in the NBA is directly pointed at Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James with the two superstars on the verge of making their decisions on which teams they’ll be signing with in free agency.

While LeBron still has yet to make his decision, the superstar has teamed up with two other NBA superstars by signing with Teneo Sports, according to Daniel Roberts of Fortune.com:

Jordan, Bryant, James and pro golfer Graeme McDowell are its first four athlete clients.

Although many will think Kobe, LeBron and Jordan have signed with a sports agency, that isn’t the case. Roberts tries clear up the confusion:

This is not a sports agency, though many will likely equate it with one. The athletes joining Teneo are retaining their agents, and those agents are not joining Teneo. Rather, Teneo seeks to let agents continue to manage their clients in the way they traditionally do, while Teneo will provide a wide range of business services for its athlete clients, including wealth management, tax planning, personal branding, business development and strategic partnerships. (This news comes just one month after Teneo brought on former U.S. senator George Mitchell as a senior adviser.)

As powerful a trio as they come in the NBA, these three superstars will likely pave the way for many other big-name players in professional sports. Prominent players in the NBA, MLB and NFL may soon follow the lead of Kobe, LeBron and Jordan with Teneo Sports locking up the biggest names in basketball.
