Kobe Bryant Leading All-Star Vote Getter; Gasol, Bynum Close

The NBA has released the second returns for the 2011 All-Star voting, and Lakers’ fans will be happy to hear that Kobe Bryant is still the top overall vote getter in the league. Bryant has received a total of 1,153,694 votes, which puts him ahead of every other player in the league.

Other Lakers, such as Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, and Andrew Bynum are also in the hunt for possible All-Star bids. Gasol is third in the forward category behind Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City and Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets.

Recently returned center Andrew Bynum is also on the list, as he is second in the Western Conference’s center category. The only center ahead of Bynum in the voting is Houston Rockets’ center Yao Ming, who is injured and expected to miss the rest of the season. This gives Bynum a high possibility of attending his first NBA All-Star game this February.
