Kobe Bryant & Andrew Bynum Named Starters for NBA All-Star Team

When the voting closed for the 2012 NBA All-Star game earlier this week the league tried to keep the winners under wraps. Needless to say they didn’t do a fantastic job of that. Following the Lakers beatdown of the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday night, it was announced that center Andrew Bynum had earned the most votes at the center position.

Now it’s official – Andrew Bynum, as well as guard Kobe Bryant, will be representing the Lakers in the starting lineups of this season’s All-Star game. While Bynum will be an All-Star rookie, Bryant will be making his 14th appearance.

This season’s All-Star game, which will be held in Orlando on Friday, Feb. 24, will feature a very distinct L.A. flavor. Not only are there two Lakers starting in the game, but two members of the Los Angeles Clippers will also be starting for the Western Conference.

You may remember Kobe’s All-Star appearance last season at the Staples Center in L.A. Bryant won the All-Star game MVP award, the fourth of his career.
