Kicksologists.com Brings You: This Week in Kicks

We’re already feeling the ups and downs that the long marathon NBA season can often bring for any team, especially for a defending champion.  The Lakers are just as prone to the same obstacles that a bottom-dweller can face such as injuries.  Unfortunately, Theo Ratliff, who was supposed to provide the champs with quality minutes in the absence of Andrew Bynum, will now endure his own knee surgery and will likely be out for over a month, begging the question of how the frontcourt is going to hold up.  At the least, Lamar Odom was confirmed to be in relatively strong health despite soreness in his foot and continued his stellar play, helping lead the Lakers to back-to-back wins over the Bucks and Pistons.

While Kobe has looked awfully impressive with consecutive 30+ point games, it was Shannon Brown who stole the show in Milwaukee, scoring 16 of his season-high 21 points in the final quarter, sparking conversation about what his nickname should be here at Lakers Nation.  Shannon, like so many of us Laker fans, is a devoted wearer of the Nike Zoom Kobe V, which kicks off our sneaker highlights for the week.

While we’ve already covered the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Ink’, which I’m sure everyone saw being worn by Kobe and Shannon in the last couple of road games, at home, they’ve been wearing the Nike Zoom Kobe V White/Del Sol. With the release of the Kobe VI just a little over a month away, it doesn’t appear that any more new colorways of the former will be showing up in the near future, which means they will be going out of production soon so grab a pair while you can!

The holidays are very very close as we approach Thanksgiving next week, meaning that Christmas is right around the corner as well.  While the maniacal frenzy of shopping for gifts is sure to make all of us lose our minds to a certain extent, it doesn’t look like it will end with Christmas itself.  The Air Jordan Fusion 4 White/Red-Black ‘Laser’ will be released just days following the momentous holiday.

Just as a reminder, the Air Jordan XI ‘Cool Grey’ release is also gearing up for next month, which will definitely contend, if not absolutely conquer, as the sneaker release of the year.  But we caught glimpse of a pair of J’s that stand as a very rare collector’s edition.  The Air Jordan XIII UNC PE is available for purchase through a private seller on eBay, but it will definitely test how deep your pockets go.  Check them out if you wish.
