Kendall Marshall Says Nick Young Has ‘Talents You Just Can’t Teach’

When Nick Young gets hot, he is able to take over a game almost single-handedly. Tonight was one of those games as he poured in a season-high 41 points in the Lakers 119-104 win over the Utah Jazz.

Young was the story tonight as he was unstoppable, particularly in the second half. After the game, Kendall Marshall spoke to reporters on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and had some high praise for Young:

Young is talented, that much is obvious, but he is also an excellent teammate who everybody on the Lakers loves. He is one of the most natural scorers in the NBA today, and has proven his worth throughout this season.

Teams need players who can get their own shot, and Young is one of those players. His energy is infectious and everyone feeds off him once he gets going.

Marshall was one of the reasons Young got going tonight as he dished out 15 assists, a number of them to Young. A good point guard understands his teammates and Marshall knows to get Young the ball when he is hot.

While Young will likely opt-out of his contract in the off-season, he has been very open about his desire to remain in Los Angeles. Someone as talented as Young is sure to attract some interest from a number of teams. It will be up to the Lakers to keep this talent in purple and gold.

SMH worst season ever and we don’t get a top 5 pick, well Im pretty sure to throw salt on top FO will give Nick Young 6mil+ cause he was so amazing taking us to the play…. I mean winning us 25 games shoo, I can wait for next years repeat performance

What talent? All Young does is jack up shots.

If defense ALONG with consistent starting role players isn’t addressed next season it’ll be another dismal year next season. Kobe will put up 40+ six + times next year (and higher) as long he returns to full health. Need a solid team that shows heart and effort consistently and represents the Brand correctly with fierce effort.

Marshall has just never played with NBA players

Not taking away from Nicks’ accomplishments last night, but it was quite obvious that the jazz didn’t offer in resistance. When have we ever had jazz fans applauding our players? never. Wish it had been a game that meant something to us if we had won, but it is what it is. I still hope that PRINGLES will be leaving us after the season is over. As a matter of fact I was kind of embarrassed when Nick was doing his thing because I actually believe deep down inside they were laughing at him and saying thanks for putting us a little closer to our lottery pick.

Can you imaging kobe having a 40 point game and nick young having 40 off the bench?! it’ll be like watching kobe and mcgrady/ arenas going back and forth but on the same team!

Either stop using drugs or start using them because whatever you’re doing now isn’t working for you.

Nick Young always has gaudy numbers on bad teams. You can look it up.
