Nick Young is about as motivated as any player in the league to make an impact next season. The Los Angeles Lakers sixth man has been putting in work this summer at the team’s practice facility while also playing in the Drew League.

Along with putting in the extra time during the off-season, Young seems to be reaping the benefits. Young recently posted this video of him throwing down this flawless dunk on his Instagram account:

Young is clearly motivated to prove his worth heading into the 2014-15 NBA season after signing a long-term deal with the Lakers. The veteran guard/forward appears determined to step up his game and help the team bounce back after the worst season in franchise history.

With Kobe Bryant back in the fold and a few roster upgrades, the Lakers are gearing up to surprise people next season. The re-signing of Young could prove crucial in the team’s attempt to bounce back if he can play at the same level he did last season while improving his game defensively.

Save some for the season Swaggy P!

that dunk was so nice I had to watch it twice! Im starting to think maybe we should just start you at the three Not because of this dunk but I would like to see kobe and nick play a lot of minutes together. They can do some damage.

    • http://www.haveslot.com/ richard

Agree, offensively they can do damage, and opposing teams have to scramble on defense to cover those two… however, I would prefer a balance team on the floor both the first and second units… with that said, SwaggyP will really shine coming off the bench with the reserves. But I am not the coach, so, I will wait to see how Scott work around that dynamics.

      • BleedPurpAndGold

agree, he can shine off the bench and there will be a balance throughout the game. Its not how you start but how you finish. As long as nick finishes the game with kobe that’s all that matters.

        • Matthew

Agree, balance in offense & defense atw. Wonder if they
can apply full court press in
          the playplayoffs.

NBA players know how to break full court presses bud. Ask Rick Pitino.

Young improved a lot just by being around Kobe this last year. I think that issue with him was not talent, but was mental, and better understanding of the game, and how things progresses on the floor in the course of a 48 minute game.

    • Ray-Marcus

Agree! He had some good scoring years with the wizards and the talent was obvious but i guess its easy to slack off when Gilbert Arenas is your leader and Javale McGee and Javaris Crittenton are your teammates

      • http://www.haveslot.com/ richard

hahahaha, I will not argue with that… having Arenas and Crittenton in the locker might have been an awe inspiring experience for SwaggyP… lol

  • Ray-Marcus

Young should be a lock for sixth man of the year!! Either that or runner up

  • LAhdez

This is the most polite and no nonsense discussion i’ve ever seen in this site, it is refreshing, and by the way i also agree with everything you guys said.

  • Lakers4Life

He can dunk all he wants on the practice court. But like Nash, it won’t matter much if he can’t do it during the actual games and win it for us. Aw man it’s gonna be another painful season for us all…if only we had nailed LeBron and Melo!

    • kobeballa14

Lebron and Melo?! Have you forgotten that we have the greatest player next to Jordan to ever play the game?…..Please be quiet until your brain turns back on….

    • Magic32

You would wanna nail LeBron and Melo. Clearly not a Laker fan.

  • Girafe NeckHead

    So under rated.Get em Swaggy!!!

  • chas

that rim is not at 10 feet! Notice he is still almost hanging on the rim right before his toe touches the ground.

  • BleedPurpAndGold

You couldn’t even attempt the same dunk even on a fisher price baby court.

  • Showtime

Clippers suck and will never be L.A.s team!
They should move to Anaheim with the Angels and Ducks!
