Along with Kobe, although not together, Nash made his way down to Brazil with travel company Beck & Score, according to an interview with Mashable:

Yeah, I’m going down there with a travel company called Beck & Score on Tuesday for 12 days. I’ll be in Sao Paulo for one game, but mostly Rio — hanging out and seeing a few games but mostly just trying to enjoy the atmosphere. You could definitely say I’m fired up. A buddy of mine was just telling me: ‘You’ve got the World Cup fever.’ And yeah, I’m definitely swept up in it.

Nash let it be known that he’ll be rooting for England and Brazil during the World Cup. Nash’s native Canada was unable to qualify for the tournament, but Nash’s English ties have him pulling for Wayne Rooney and company while also hoping the host country does well. Kobe has also said that he hopes Brazil does well.

Nice to know he’s healthy now and not when it mattered.

    Just retire please

I am calling it now and been saying Steve Nash will retire before season.

  • A Fan

oh wow, he’s playing football just fine. then once the regular season arrives, he’ll be injured after 10 mins of playing time -_-

  • Lakers4Life

Much respect for Nash while he played for the Suns, but all this “soccer” crap while being useless as a Laker is lame. Just retire already.

  • vdogg

well i am glad to know that with all the money the lakers have been paying him to sit on the bench, his soccer skill have not deteriorated. what a relief.

What a douchebag! Still collecting paycheck when he’s not even contributing for the Lakers. What a waste of 2015 first round draft pick!

  • Al Haldie

And the next thing you will say is you cant play for the LAKERS because your back and legs hurt and you will not understand why — ya that’s a good one..

  • SierraM363

Lakers should keep this guy forever.

  • Igor Dubinskiy

Come on guys, chill out. He could’ve posted a video dribbling a basketball and you would’ve said the same thing. It’s not the same as playing in a real, competitive game. Let him enjoy his second sporting passion, same as plenty of other basketball players like Kobe.

    Basically, don’t be a douche.

For those who believe that Steve Nash playing a little soccer is going to render him unable to play basketball in the fall–you need to get a life. Saw a video of Kobe playing soccer–is that also a problem? Nash plays soccer to stay in shape in the summer. He’s doing all he can to be healthy for next season, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to avoid all physical activity. If he thought he was endangering his ability to play next season he wouldn’t be doing what he’s doing. This is his last season, and he wants to end his career well. He’s not going to do anything to put that in jeopardy. If he has a problem next season it won’t be because he played some soccer.
