INSTAGRAM: Jordan Clarkson Thanks Byron Scott For ‘Opportunity’

There hasn’t been much to cheer about this season for Los Angeles Lakers fans, but the one major bright spot for the team has been the play of rookie point guard Jordan Clarkson. Since being inserted into the starting lineup, Clarkson has gone toe-to-toe with the best point guards in the NBA and held his own night after night.

Clarkson’s great play in the month of March was rewarded with him being named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month. Clarkson received his award before Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and afterwards, posted a picture to his Instagram page of himself and head coach Byron Scott, in which he thanked Scott for ‘blessing me with the opportunity.’

Scott has been hard on all of the Lakers this season, but has praised Clarkson’s work ethic and development. As a former guard himself, Scott has surely helped in Clarkson’s evolution into more of a pure point guard. Fans can only hope that this is just the beginning of Clarkson’s accolades at this level.
