Happy 23rd Birthday Lakers Rookie Darius Johnson-Odom

By | September 28, 2012|

Today, Sept. 28th, is the 23rd birthday of Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Darius Johnson-Odom. We here at Lakers Nation would like to wish Johnson-Odom a happy birthday and hope this year will bring him great success.

Johnson-Odom was drafted 55th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks, but he was quickly traded to the Lakers. Although Johnson-Odom may not get a lot of playing time with the Lakers, he will learn a great deal behind Kobe Bryant and the other veterans on the team.

In his senior season at Marquette, Johnson-Odom averaged 18.3 points while earning First Team All-Big East honors. With the Lakers’ Summer League Roster, he averaged 3.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 15.8 minutes per game.

Darius Johnson-Odom will get his first action with the actual Lakers roster during training camp, which is rapidly approaching.
