Nick Young and Pau GasolThe Lakers hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, which was their first home game after four on the road. With their second consecutive win, the Lakers improved their record to .500 with a great late-game stretch from the Lakers. Late in the fourth quarter, with the shot clock winding down, Pau Gasol would grab the ball in the short corner and drill a three-pointer effectively putting the Lakers up six. The three would prove to be a dagger as the Timberwolves would not come within two possessions of the Lakers for the rest of the night. The three also provided the most fun moment of the season when Gasol celebrated with Nick Young. Jubilation. Check out the GIF of the celebration below.

Well, maybe the leadership role in Kobe absence suits Pau after all. Loved seeing the team get their groove on last night, with Pau essentially paving the way. I also thought Chris Kaman’s block of Kevin Martin’s shot on that Wolves fast break also sparked yesterday’s feel-good win.

I agree with that. It is encouraging seeing the return of both Gasol and Kaman. And Nick Young loves to create some excitement.
I did not see the game but I’m guessing Xavier Henry must have held his own at the point?

      Go Lakers !

Well, the Lakers really seem to be missing Pau in this game up in Oakland – offense looks completely disjointed, particularly ally from Pau’s favorite position at the elbow…

Yeah Pau was starting to ramp up his effort. The Lakers need the full compliment of players. They have the makings of a good team, but must be healthy enough to put the key pieces on the floor.
