Fox Sports Reporting Some Lakers Want to End World Peace

By | February 14, 2012|

According to Joe McDonnell of Fox Sports, some current Lakers have expressed their opinions that the team would be better if they Metta World Peace was just not on the team any more.

“There are a lot of guys in here who’d just like to see him gone,” one player told FOXSportsWest.com on the condition of anonymity. “I think we’d definitely be a better team if everyone didn’t have to walk on eggshells when he’s around.”

As we mentioned yesterday, Metta has started to let it be known that he is unhappy with his playing time. Despite his poor offensive output this season, he believes that his defense is more than enough to warrant him the important minutes in crunch time.

A lot of fans can see the passion that flows through Metta’s veins and have appreciated all that he’s done since joining the purple & gold – put-back shots, momentum shifting three-pointers, key steals & solid defense. Off the court, Metta has morphed into an engaging and big supporter of community and charity events.

But at the end of the day, most Lakers fans are all about “what have you done for me lately?” So, fair or not fair, the reality is that Metta hasn’t done much this season on the court.

Just another item to add to the long list of things to do for Lakers management and coaching staff.

DEFENSE wins CHAMPIONSHIPS…..!!!! Last year we stuck with Pau after a suck ass playoff season and he started the same way this year. There aren’t 5 others in the NBA who pose a problem DEFENSIVELY for Lebron, Carmelo, Durant and the Elite scorers without needing HELP. Sure he is struggling offensively but he was just learning the Triangle Offense and now a totally new system which is not using his post ability and not as many backdoor cuts to create easy offense and to get him going MENTALLY.

Why isn’t this article on Luke Walton!?!?!

    • Asdf

Luke Walton is still on the team??

  • Sau Bautista

Honestly Id rather drop Walton then World Peace. Either drop Walton or play him more because right now where things are he isnt contributing to the lakers at all. Im sick of the politics. Who cares if his dad was Bill Walton, everyone in the NBA should pay their dues.

MWP is done with his career… Yeah he is good in defense but LAKERS also need his offense… That is the reason why LAKERS are winning games as expected… After winning his first ring, he eventually got bored and tired of getting another one… He is satisfied with one ring on his finger, but KB24 is not… KB24 wants more… KB24 needs a teammate who are hungry to have more NBA rings and none of his teammates have the same passion of winning and getting a RING…

World peace is our only shot at a title, the rest of the lakers dont play defense!

    • Joeschmoo

The lakers are one of the best defensive teams and one of the worst offensive teams
