They were not playing a glorified minor league team earlier in the season. The team the Rockies put out on the field over the weekend was pathetic. Kershaw was a -290 favorite the other night and probably should have been -550.

Its unlikely but there are 2 game left in the season and there is still a chance.

You do realize that the best that they can do right now is to tie St. Louis. the best that they can do right now would to be to force a one game playoff with the Cardinals and then if they beat them they would have to beat Atlanta and Kris Medlen who has won like
25 starts in a row. That would be just to get to the first round of the playoffs. Would be one of the greatest stories in baseball history if they could pull it off. Kershaw would not be able to pitch in either elimination game either. Good luck.

You would hope that they could sneak in the playoffs with the massive payroll. As of now Red Sox win the trade hands down. Dodgers and Angels to me were the two most disappointing teams in baseball this year. Considering the Dodgers had an 8 or so game lead early in the season for them to finish 8 or so back of the Giants is unacceptable. Personally I do not know how enttertaining it is to watch a season where a team lounders as much offensively as they did. Poorly put together team overall. Their depth kinda sucks. They have Kershaw and excellent bullpen as stregths. Handley Ramirez looks like a shadow of the player that he used to be.

+1 I totally agree. Although I'm a bit more pissed off at the Doyers than you are. With the talent we had on paper, you'd think they would've at least made the playoffs. So pathetic how far ahead they were at the start of the season, then to add more talent and go down like this?

Not a fan myself but it does not take a genius to see how horrible a job that Ned Colletti has done. Patchwork starting pitching staff and trading for a rapidly in decline Handley Ramirez. Horrible job of putting together a bench with a couple of ex-Angel stiffs.
Ned better hope that A Gone rediscovers his power stroke or trade with Bosox is going to look even worse down the road. Dodgers took on a ton of salary of guys who may or may not be able to play. Beckett might be a decent pitcher but he is way overpaid right now for a guy who has lost a few miles off his fast ball. Big question mark in regards to Carl Crawford. Nick Punto is a piece of crap. Shane Victorino will probably not be back. H Ramirez is no longer a major league shortstop defensively.

Here they go again.
But they probably won’t go at it.
The Padres begin a three-game series Monday at Dodger Stadium against the team with which just four days prior they engaged in an on-field melee that led to a postgame confrontation and a barrage of strong words.
The Dodgers and doyer fans now, they’re ticked off. One of their aces is shelved for two months, and they believe it’s Quentin’s fault.
One final word of caution about this series, though: If any of you Padres fans who aren’t going to games in San Diego were thinking about attending at Chavez Ravine and wearing our SD gear, please reconsider. Doyers games are the new Raiders games in Los Angeles, and anyone wearing an opposing team’s gear in the parking lot is more unwelcome as Quentin would have been on the field.
