Up next for the Dodgers: at Houston

Clayton Kershaw, coming off perhaps the best outing of his brief Dodgers career, will be opposed tonight by journeyman Russ Ortiz.
April 21, 2009

AT HOUSTON

When: 5 PDT.

Where: Minute Maid Park.

On the air: TV:Channel 9; Radio: 790, 930.

Pitchers: Clayton Kershaw vs. Russ Ortiz.

Wednesday, 5 p.m.: Randy Wolf (1-1, 3.93) vs. Roy Oswalt (0-2, 4.26).

Thursday, 5 p.m.: Chad Billingsley (3-0, 2.84) vs. Wandy Rodriguez (1-1, 1.89).

Update: Kershaw had perhaps the best outing of his brief major league career in his last start, limiting San Francisco to a run and a hit over seven innings. The 21-year-old left-hander struck out 13, making him the youngest Dodger to record that many strikeouts in a game since Sandy Koufax had 14 as a 19-year-old rookie in 1955. Ortiz is back after missing all of last season recovering from reconstructive elbow surgery. Signed to a minor league deal this winter, he won the competition to be Houston's fifth starter. He's made one start, giving up three runs in 4 2/3 innings at Pittsburgh last week.

You watch the Dodgers play and you just know there will be an inning where they score 5 runs and the team bats around.

Vic needs to stop comparing Kershaw to Koufax.
He sounds even dumber than usual.

Yeah Kershaw is probably going to be way better and last longer.

Short left field.  Dodgers right handed sluggers should club 2-3 ding-dongs tonight!
