there is no one G.O.A.T. not even Jordan. some would say Bill Russell, Wilt or Big O. For me personally, Magic was the greatest.

I'm still trying to find out what qualifies him as the GOAT?  What did he do that other players didn't?

Michael Jordan is Six for Six in the NBA Finals. All Six times he was Finals MVP. If you feel that this does not qualify Michael Jordan as the greatest ever, then you've got an agenda.

Bill Russell won more titles.  Kareem won 6.  Finals MVP is a subjective award and since the MVP Finals Trophy is called the Bill Russell Trophy and not the Michael Jordan trophy emo-no1_gd.gif  basketball2.gif

NBA Finals MVP award is not like gymnastics, it is not subjective. I can throw stats all day proving that Michael Jordan is the greatest, but I don't have to.

Out on a limb? Jordan revived basketball because the showtime era was over and no one was watching, and he was great, but other than the 6 rings, he made it exciting again. Look at the big picture Juan. Then again you probably didn;t watch much Kareem in his hey day.

Kareem was a vital and relevant bball star from high school through his days with the Lakers. a true legend in every sense of the word.

I cannot believe that I'm having this argument that Michael Jordan is the Greatest of All Time. Y'all definitely have an agenda, go outside of your Lakers-Homerism world every once in a while will yah??

clearly you don't recognize anyone before Jordan for their accomplishments. he's your choice for GOAT. thats fine but it doesn't make it closed for debate.

you can't deny Kareem's impact on basketball at every level.

I completely agree that Kareem is a basketball legend, But Kareem did not transcend outside of basketball like how Michael Jordan did.

That's because the NBE didn't hype individuals back then.  David Stern made Michael Jordan the face of the NBE.  He also had endorsement deals that sold him worldwide.  Imagine if they had the same coverage when Wilt scored 100 or averaged 50 rebounds a game in a season.  ESPN would have been all over him.

Juan, Kareem was leaving his prime with the showtime lakers.  You have to go back to his days with the Bucks and his battles with Wilt.

How is the finals MVP not subjective?  It is voted on by the press

Jordan benefitted from an era that brought sports marketing to an entire new level. Jordan was the best player of his time and advertisers jumped on that, transforming what it means to be a pitchman. Nike, Gatorade, McDonalds, etc helped elevate the status of Jordan and made him accesible to people beyond bball fans. Not to mention it raised the standard of what a star athlete commands in money for attaching his name to a product. Tiger Woods should be thanking Jordan everyday of his life.
