Getting Nash will giving up just draft picks was a huge move. It moves the Lakers from a good team with little championship potential to a great team with a serious shot to win it all. That being said I wonder what the next moves for this team will be.

1. Having a pg like Nash fills a need but we need to continue to address out biggest concerns. I like the idea of getting Jodie Meeks to help improve outside shooting and the bench.
2. The next move should be to get an athletic 3. I think the lakers should look at Terence Williams as a promising young option who should be cheap.
3. Trade Bynum and MWP for Howard and Richardson  Honestly Bynum is just as big a baby and is more injury prone. Yes it is scary that Howard might leave after a year but it is worth the risk IMO. Best case scenario Lakers win and he signs an extension. Worst case scenario Lakers don't and he leaves. If he leaves the lakers then they got some money to make improvements. This team is built to win now and Howard is a better player than Bynum.
4. Resign Hill and Sessions.
These are two players that I think have a bright future for this team. I think sessions is gonna be the pg of the future and playing behind Nash should do wonders for him. Hill isn't going to be a great player but all the lakers need is a guy who can come off the bench and provide something whether it be a couple put backs or rebounds.

I was playing with the idea of amnestying Blake but I'm not so sure that is the right move. After these changes the roster would look something like this.

Nash/Sessions/Blake
Bryant/Meeks/Goudelock
Richardson/Williams/Ebanks
Gasol/Hill
Howard/Sacre

It looks like the Lakers are just going to take a shot with the team had last year + Nash + some minor additions with their 3 mil exception and minimum contracts.

All they really need now to make a run is some wing players to run/defend/shoot. Every wing player they pick up needs to do 2 of those 3 things if not all 3.

Not sure if they'll re-sign Session now that they've signed Nash for $9 million per.  Signing Session means taking on another $4 million plus the luxury tax.  If any happens, it'll be via a trade for either Bynum or Gasol, salaries for salaries.
With Nash on board, I believe the Lakers will next be looking for a dead-eye three point shooting phenom.

Hoping LA can somehow trade for Brandon Rush or Dorrell Wright.

I read that LA wants to re-sign Ebanks.  But if they can't or even if they do, getting a guy like Terrence Williams or even Donte Greene would be nice to have at the end of the bench since they can play multiple positions.

Also, we can pray that Christian Eyenga comes back with a jump shot.  He's athletic enough to help in LA's transition game.

L.A. Lakers receive:
Marvin Williams
Josh Smith

Atlanta Hawks receive:
Pau Gasol
Christian Eyenga
Josh McRoberts

---------------

Starting Lineup:

Howard
Bryant

Notes: Terrence Williams, Brandon Rush, Lavoy Allen are difficult to entertain because they have the restricted patch on them. Grant Hill is a possibility instead of Rush and Williams, though short term.

The only thing that I didn't like about this is, only 3 current lakers are in your line up. Meaning, alot of adjustment and smelling each others feet will happen which I think will slow down the progress of winning it NOW. Nash and bryant dosent have that much time for too much get to know each other moment. Thats what i think, but i could be wrong.

If I had to make any moves for LAL, it'd be on just getting better in each position.
That said, let's take a look on the depth chart as the Lakers are currently built with players under contract:

C- Bynum/Gasol
PF- Gasol/McRoberts
SF- Artest/Eyenga
SG- Bryant/Goudelock
PG- Nash/Blake

As you can see, the 2nd unit has holes on the PF and SG positions. If LAL can get Grant Hill, that pretty much covers a GF position. The problem now would be on the PF Position, since the Lakers will need a scheme guy to be able to fully utilize Nash's abilities. McRoberts isn't going to be good enough. If I had to look for a 4, it'll have to be a stretch 4. Antwan Jamison already settled on Charlotte where he can be with nearer to his family, the list of stretch 4s is now shortened to just the following players:
Ryan Anderson (Magic RFA, will have to be S&T), Rashard Lewis (interested w/ Miami), Ersan Ilyasova (wants $10M+, must go tru S&T to get), and Yi JianLian (There's no news about him yet).

Aside from those, the next available players are borderline bench warmers like Steve Novak, Troy Murphy, Vlademir Radmanovic, Brian Scalabraine, Brian Cardinal, and Brian Cook. =.=

these are the moves i would like the lakers to do...

first they should re-sign sessions and hill (both did wonders with our 2nd unit)

sign grant hill for the vets minimum (hill can still play and defend for his age)

i like the idea of jodie meeks for outside shooting (between sessions/meeks can spell kobe some minutes, kobe can also slide to small forward to add shooting from time to time

dwight howard or not, the moves will help the bench which i think was our downfall. a deeper team is what we need.

They 100% need to keep Hill. He is young and cheap. I think LAL should let Sessions go. They do not have any money to through around and keep Sessions won't  be cheap.  I think having Nash will impove the IQ of a young like Morris . Plus Kobe can still run the offense some when Nash in on the bench. LAL needs to cut salary where ever possible and I don't see Seessions as a must have piece.
