Nash to the Lakers! This has to help in signing Howard. Howard was afraid of Kobe ball-hogging, but he knows Nash will pass him the ball.  This means tho Kobe has to learn to play off the ball.  Hopefully Kobe knows this is best for the team and let Nash create for him.

if i was the gm, i would give howard an ultimatum.  we just got nash and plan on competing for the title.  you have 24 hrs to decide if you want to play for us.  if you can't decide by then, "FOCK OFF, WE'RE GOING TO KEEP BYNUM"...

Kobe has never played beside a guard as great as Nash.  His basketball IQ and respect for Nash will get it done. Nash much dominate the ball and dictate the pace every time he is on the floor.  Everyone is going to improve with Nash running the show.  Kobe will get great looks to the basket and Pau will be a beast!

The fact the Kobe was the one who reached out to Nash is significant.  He knows damn well who is going to be running the offense.  I expect less Iso's this year.  I just hope Mike Brown gets his rotations together.  The offense was all over the place last season.

Yeah.. I hope Mike Brown does a better job on offense this year.  I hope he knows how to run an up-tempo offense.  Lakers need shooters to spread the floor too.  It will be interesting, that is for sure.

He would probably say FOCK OFF and tell you that he is going to Jersey to play with D-Will.

that's gonna be highly unlikely cause orlando doesn't want any of the scrubs from jersey.....

his choices are very slim right now..

Bynum has already said publicly that he does not care where he plays. Next season there will be a bidding war for Bynum and LAL will have to spend a ton of money to keep him. A ton of money they don't have availible with the new caps. Better to trade Bynum now IMO. They have Gasol and can re-sign Hill. That is still quality size. They can use Bynum to go after and quality shooter like Paul George (pacers lost There center). Trade Bynum now or next season LAL will have to blow the whole team up just to find the money to keep him.

how many centers are better than bynum?  answer - 1
how many small forwards are better than paul george?  answer - too many

how does getting rid of bynum for paul george make any sense?

Does not really matter what Orlando wants to do. Dwight stays and leaves for Bronx after the season or he gets traded to whoever and leaves for Bronx at the end of the season. He is in total control. Magic are in a world of hurt. If Dwight wanted to be in L.A. then he already would have been here. I am not going to defend him because he has acted like a douche for awhile but people who say he keeps changing his mind are wrong. He has wanted to play with D-Will for awhile and has been constant about that. If the Magic had any brains and wanted to keep DH they should have tried to acquire D-Will and keep Howard happy.

orlando is not going to trade him there cause they don't want any of those scrubs..  and he can't go there on his own because new jersey screwed him by signing joe johnson and whoever else they signed to big contracts.  they don't have enough money to sign him so that door is pretty much completely shut for him.

he's free to go to any team that wants him but the teams that have a ton of money available are all garbage teams and he would be taking a 25 million paycut.  that' why the lakers are willing to risk it even though he says he doesn't want to come here.  he can either compete for the title here and sign a max deal or walk to garbage team AND take a pay cut.  it makes no sense for him to go to a non contending team and take a pay cut...

Players say a lot of shit. Most players care more about getting paid than where they play which is why when push comes to shove they usually go to the highest bidder. Bynum is no different. Gasol is in decline and Hill is pretty much a back up. Bynum has untapped potential and is not even going to be in his prime for a couple of years.
Lakers will not have to blow up team to keep Bynum. Artest and his crappy contract will soon be off the books . Pau and his overpriced contract is the one who should be traded in my opinion.

Nets will be a contending team if he goes there and in a huge market. They have an owner who does not care about spending money and does not seem to worried about luxury tax. Dallas has unloaded a ton of salary and is a possible destination for Howard. Like I have said before if Howard wanted to be here than he already would have been. Sense does not always come into play. Nets become the second best team on paper in the East if Dwight goes there.

:popcorn1: Intresting points by everyone. Except for 1 key point, Houston does not care about Howard wanting to or not wanting to sign a long term contract. Also It appears that Houston is more alive in the Dwight Howard race than anyone gives them credit for. Their trade with Toronto earned them a sure fire lottery pick for next summer and they are looking to clear up cap space and / or add another pick in a S&T of Marcus Campus (whom both the Knicks and Heat are fighting over).

The first deal gives Houston another good pick to offer Orlando while the second makes it easier for them to absorb the contract of Turk or JRich. If Houston is going to send a 2013, lottery pick, Jeremy Lamb, Kevin Martin and also take back a bad contract then hands down Houston will get Howard.
THERE IS ALWAYS 1 WORD IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE THAT IS ALWAYS PRONOUNCED INCORRECTLY. WHAT IS IT?

What great center played in the finals this year? What great center played in the conf. finals this year?
Answer is none.

Yes there are a lot more good SG and SF in the league than there are centers but LAL has Gasol and Hill to play Center and no one but Kobe for SG or SF.
Bynum is also going to get a max deal next year which would make it rally hard on the Lakers cap wise. Gasol can play Center at an All Star level and Hill was basically as productive as Bynum during stretches in the playoffs. Without Bynum LAL still as a bigger interior than OKC or the Heat. What LAL doesn't have is perimeter shooting. Trade Bynum and get a quality SG or SF and LAL would have size at the rim and shooters on the perimeter.

Bynum is LAL most valuable trade piece. Imagine how much faster and more efficient LAL would be if a player like Monte Ellis or Harden was on the floor with Kobe and Nash? With or without Bynum LAL has 2 guys (Gasol and Hill) that can play center effectively. Besides Kobe (34 this season) and Nash (39 by the playoffs) who can shoot the ball? Bring in a shooter and it not only further spreads the floor but it also lengthens Kobe's and Nash's career but giving them help on the perimeter.

D12 doesn't seem like he is Lakers bound.  Kupchak told Bynum's agent that there is no deal for D12. Also told the media not to expect another home run trade.  Houston is making a pretty strong offer, so if not the Rockets, then D12 is going to play in Orlando this year, probably up to the trade deadline. Then Orlando has to act and get something for D12.

No GM is going to say what is really going on. If Orlando has Howard at the trade deadline then I have little doubt that he is going to Nets at that time. Orlando is going to get fucked when all is said and done.

Orlando getting screwed is a sure thing, no matter when D12 leaves.  No sympathy for them tho. They should've just traded him last year instead of pleading with his mom and everything else they did.
