Hello Lakersnation,

After this article I wrote here, and the finals are underway; the question we want to ask ourselves are: Who will be the top leading team for the Western Conference in the 2012-2013 season and beyond? Will it be the Lakers, Clippers, Spurs, Mavericks, Rockets, Hornets, Kings, Suns, T-Wolves, Blazers, Warriors, Nuggets, Grizzlies, Jazz, or once again the Thunder that will be the leading team in the West? As a Laker fan, I obviously want the Lakers to be back on top but from the looks of things; should the Thunder win this year's finals, we all know damn well they're going to defend their championship title to the death against not only everyone in the West but the Miami Heat and the other Eastern Conference teams that will give the Thunder a lot of pressure and stress for the following season and they're likely to be a threat for years to come in the league.

All in all, in order for the Lakers to have the potential to be the leading team in the West again; we all know that there will be many changes for this team in the current offseason and though we have come up with scenarios to make this team better, knowing most Laker fans, we don't have the patience to see who will end up coming to the Lakers or who will leave; it's only a matter of time this year if they do have what it takes to be on top again.

Yeah, reluctantly I agree that the Thunder will be the favorites in the West...unless Anthony Davis kicks everyone else's asses for his first year of the NBA.  :computer:

Sadly I would have to agree with Steven that the young, quick Thunder will be the favorites for a few years to come. Lakers need a gang of adjustments on the roster as well as themselves mentally in order to be considered  up there with the Thunder again.
