Which NFL Team Is Best Fit For L.A.?

Telling from what's been going on in the news of finally bringing an NFL team to Los Angeles and all the expectations its created and will create, whichever team ends up in L.A. is definitely here to stay. With that in mind, I thought I'd start a thread regarding which team do you guys think would better benefit the city of Los Angeles financially as well as create a steadily growing fan base?

I was reading what some of the guys here at the Forum Club have been discussing in the San Diego Chargers thread about which team to bring to L.A.. Of those teams, the one's discussed the most were the Raiders, Chargers and Rams. Others were as well, but those 3 were most mentioned. So which team do you think would be better fit to come and play for L.A.?

No brainer, Raiders.

1. Already have a huge fan base in LA.
2. Have history here with their 1 superbowl.
3. Highest rating grabber in LA of all NFL teams since their move
4. Great look to match LA’s image consciousness.

I would have to agree with you Naz. I've heard some say the Chargers, but then I would never hear the end of old Charger fans throwing it in our faces that they were from San Diego first, etc.

The ViQueens. Their colors match the last team to move to L.A. from Minneapolis.

The Rams are the best choice.

A huge built in fan base

Fans would not be gang bangers, trouble makers, tough guy looking for a fight, Adults dressed up as charactors from the dark side, falling down drunks, criminals, and the few actual Raiders fans who just want to cheer for their team and stay out of trouble, unfortunitly they are by far the minority of Raider Nation.

Rams where in the L A area far longer and far earlier than the NoCal Raiders

With the Raiders you get a terrible team with ridiculous management

Went to many Raider games and saw more fights than action on the field

Went to many Rams games saw alot of Football, bad when the bitch took over, and a few fights

Raiders are so unstable, they may say F you L A and go back to Nocal in a few years, as they have before

With the Raiders the added cost of an on site jail and judge would cost alot

Rams should be L A's team again

The safest choice for L.A. would be Phillip Rivers and the Chargers. For the saftey of Angelenos keep the Raidas away or you will have to build a prison right between the staples and Farmers field. They (Raidas) already dumped you (L.A.) once before, and whos to say they won`t do it again to you suckers! As for the Rams, I saw more people at a arena football game then at a Rams game. You have 2 bad teams in the Lams and the Traiders, Chargers are still solid.

Rams fanbase in LA is dwindled considerably since their time here. It is a fraction of what the much more loyal Raiders fan base. That is why the Raiders, not the Rams, were being shown regularly on the local broadcast before the Charges started flexing their TV market rights muscle.

Stereotype and not based on facts. The guy that robs you with the Raider jersey probably never been to a game or know any player on the team. I’ve been to many Raider games as well and just like any fanbase, the majority of the fans are well behaved and law abiding. The worse Ive seen it was in San Diego but the gangster Charger fans were just as responsible for the troubling making and fights. When seeing them play the Steelers in Oakland I didn’t see one fight despite a very rowdy Steelers fan base.

Rams were in Orange County a good portion, not LA. LA people do not associated themselves with Anaheim/Orange County, and vice versa.

Al will die soon and the Raiders instability will be gone.

Chargers were originally from LA and if my history is right they were coached by Al Davis for one season before moving to San Diego.  I need wiki this to verify.

The Steelers fan base travels well.  They take over the stadium here when they come to town.  Same with the Packers.  Chargers made everybody buy a ticket to the Seahawks preseason game if they wanted to buy tickets to the Packer game.

I don't see the Rams moving back.  Their new owner Stan Kronke has strong ties to the St Louis area as well here in Denver.  I believe the Rams will stay where they are at.

The situation is perfect for the Chargers to move.  They don't have a new stadium and their lease with the current stadium is expiring.  The games aren't selling out.  They will have a huge fan base in LA because people from San Diego will travel to see them.

I really doubt that the San Diego fans will stay loyal to the team if it moves to LA. San Diego is anti Los Angeles and will not support a LA based team. Its like a guy leaving his girlfriend for the girl that your girlfriend hates. There is no reconciliation in either scenario.

Screw the Raiders, Rams, and the Chargers. Since we can't get an expansion team i'd have to say the Jags. They don't have a lot of history and a terrible fan base in Jax so starting fresh in LA would be ideal. Raiders are still owned by the meddling Davis, the Rams are entrenched in St.Louis and the Chargers are San Diego's team period.

I know you are not when those idiot face painting costum wearing, trouble making fool who ruin the game for people like you and me.

Al Davis is the Devil. He's already dead, he just will not go away.

The sterotypes are true for the most part. If you went to any raider games like I did you will know the following are true.

1) My friend who is smaller than me got his ticket snatch out of his hand and was told his seat was not available until I showed up and cleared things up. That fool wanted to fight over our seat. He finally moved over when he saw I worked out and was not scared and that I was still sober and he was smashed. By the way he was dressed like skilletor.

2) I saw a Steeler fan and a Broncos fan beat so bad, their faces whee full of blood when they where helped out by security. These where 2 different games.

3) Raider fan pees where ever they want, trash cans, the tunnel, the sinks, any where.

4) I would never take my girl to a Raider game, it was just not a safe enviorment.

5) I could never take a child either because of the foul languge used by Raider fan. I am not a proud I just don't want kids hearing that to early.

6) If I was seated any where near a fan of the visiting team I was gaurnteed to get soak with beer Raida fan threw, and all sorts of food types.

7)Not nearly as many hot chicks at Raida games because it was not safe, plenty of them at a Rams game.

8) And so on and so on.

I do not follow the St. Louise Rams. There are plenty of Rams fans here, they just got pissed when the bitch took over the team when that old fool died.

Nanizm I am sure you are a great raider fan but I am afraid the others ruin it for everybody else. L A Rams, the best choice.

I would rather go to a Raiders/Chargers game than Broncos/Chargers game.  I have been to both and I have to say Broncos fans are bigger douches.

Have been to a Raida's game at the Coliseum, no matter who they are playing? There are douchey fans but Raida fan at a home game is just not safe, they make the parking lot thugs at Doyer staium look like school boys. some of Raida Nation are there just to get in fights or acted like jack asses, not to route for their team and enjoy a good game.

I'd pick the Raiders. They simply have a bigger fanbase in So-Cal than they have in northern cali.

The Rams did give a big middle finger to LA when they moved to Anaheim back in the 80's because they didn't wanna be associated with the city, yet they kept LA in their names to get in the market.

The Chargers can stay in San Diego. They have had the biggest bandwagon jump in all of the nfl within the last 10 years. Charger fans try to talk alot on Raider fans but they are a ton of "bad" charger fans who will go after a Raider fan just because he's wearing a something Raider related. Not to mention the Chargers have been advertising in LA markets and people really just don't seem to care.

People try to talk about the Raiders fanbase but look where they are playing? Oakland isn't the safest city on earth and the coliseum is just a shit hole. When they played in LA, they were in South Central Los Angeles in the 1980's and that was probably one of the most dangerous cities in the country at the time.

Pretty much all Football fans have their problematic fans. It's just sad people are quick to call someone in a Raider jersey a "thug".

The Rams moved to Anhiem for a better stadium with luxary boxes, than when the owner died that showgirl ruined the team so she could break their lease and take the team to her home town. (the movie Major League was based on Georgia F, they just centered it around baseball.). Talk about a finger being given. Them Raiders moved out of SoCal all together. Than took millions from Irwindale in an attempt to extort money that worked. Raider fans have earned their rep. Unfortunitly the real football fans who like the Raiders pay for the creeps who went to the games a ruined it for everybody. Rams baby. :football:

George did do that dirt on the Rams. Al Davis is out of his rocker no doubt. But who has a bigger fanbase? Raiders.

"Major League" came out in 1989, the Rams moved in 94 or 95.  I don't think the movie was based on her.  The similarities are there though.

With the stadium in Downtown LA by Staples the atmosphere will be completely different for a Raider game than it was before. The decent people that believe in abiding by laws will be out and those thugs that give the Raider fan base a bad name will be few. Its not like Dodger stadium that is in the middle of gang central and poor communties. The stadium will be surrounded by pricy restaurants and affluent people that live in all of those million dollar lofts. The thugs will stay away.
