Former Duck Sammy Pahlsson signed with Columbus. The trade for Wizniewski looks better and better.

I loved it at the time and still do. hope he is resigned at a reasonable contract.

The Ducks tendered him an offer, so they have the right to match anything from other teams. Which Murray has said he will do.

Ducks signed Saku Koivu to a 1-year deal worth $3.25 million. Selanne and Koivu on the same line should be fun to watch.

I'm hoping this team doesn't take too long to gel. The game against St. Louis was embarrasing. Now I'm glad it wasn't televised.

I saw it. Free NHL center ice preview on Direct TV. It was embarassing. I switched it to Canuck-Wild game and ASU-Washington game after it was 3-0. St. Louis is good but other than Boston game I have not been too impressed by Ducks play this season so far. They will get better when Getzlaf starts scoringsome points. As long as Ducks get into playoffs they will be a threat to do some damage. Getting there in Western Conference may not be so easy.

There's usually 2-3 times per game where I shout at the TV for Getzlaf to shoot the damn puck. He always looks to pass even if he has an open shooting. It's like he's overthinking the situation in front of him.

I have thought the same thing many times. He has a great shot but apparently wants to be the Doug Gilmour or Adam Oates of this era. I think the goalies around NHL see what we are seeing as well
and play him to pass rather than shoot more often than not.

This is killing me. I expect a lot more from the Ducks. Rumor is that Carlyle may be on his way out soon if things don't improve.

The last two regular seasons have been pretty mediocre. I put this more on the players than I do the coach but as we know the coach is a lot easier to get rid of. West is too competetive this year to just cruise into the playoffs.

Even though they won the last two games, the homestand was pretty crappy overall.
Outside of Wisniewski, the defense needs to to start getting meaner and tougher, Whitney especially. The guy is as big as Pronger but not near as tough and physical. I think he could be a beast if he wants to be.
I'm sick of yelling for Getzlaf to shoot more. I get wanting to set people up, but Jebus Christ. All they say on the broadcast is how hard Getz's shot is, well let's see it.

Ducks looked cooked for this year. I am starting to think Nieds will be traded to a serious contender before the trade deadline and that the return will not be all that great. Ducks are basically a ne line team with a very shaky defense. They pulled a playoff run out of their asses last year but I do not see that happening this year. They do not need a major rebuild but they do
need to start looking to the future because the present does not look that good. Hopefully Pronger trade works out in the long run but it is not working in the present.

Ducks are on a roll. They just beat the Bruins for their 6th in a row. This seems like an exact replay of last season. Underachieve for the first half, then play outstanding the second. Hiller has been in the net for all the wins. I'm guessing Bob Murray is trying hard to move Giggy. This play is a disturbing pattern, though. Playiong catch-up sucks.

Was at the game last night. Very exciting game with some great action both ways and some good scraps. Too bad Selanne got hurt last night. I doubt there is much of a market for Giggy at this point but I am sure that Murray is trying. For me ther edefense is a big question mark. Watching Eminger play is hard, he scored the winning puck last night but his play was for the most part atrotious.

They showed Selanne after he got up, and there was blood all over his face and visor. Sucks because he's going to miss the Olympics. And that was a big reason for coming back.
I don't know, I think there is some team out there looking for a veteran goalie. The only thing is that the Ducks would probably have to take on another bad contract as well.
How big does Chara look in real life?

Kings just went up 2-0. Fuck.

I thought that the Ducks would have it tough tonight. Kings are well rested and also very desperate as well. Last night was an extremely physical game for Ducks and Bruins as well. Charra is a monster, so much bigger than everyone else out there. He makes Getzlaf look small. The goal that he scored was an absolute bomb.
He actually remids me a lot of Pronger. I miss Pronger myself. I knew Selanne was toasted when it happened. The same thing has happened to me a couple of times playing hockey and I was just lucky because I used a full style cage mask. There was blood all over the ice. Lots of season left for Ducks to make up 6 points.
There problem might be that they are not the only team going for the 8th spot and one of those teams is Detwat. Minny and St. Louis are also playing much better right now as well. This is a transitional season for the team. I think they will be better next year but I am not crazy about their defense. Love Wiz and Nieds but not much else does much for me. Looks like Salcedo busted out and I hope Gardiner is ready in a couple of years.

They're going to have to be ready. Scotty Niedermayer won't be there much longer. The problem with Whitney is that he's not Pronger. And I think Carlyle keeps trying to make him like Pronger. I love Wiz. That dude is a gamer. I'm putting my hopes into Gardiner and Mark Mitera. All I've heard about the last 2 years was how good Mitera is.

I expect Detwat to make a run once they're completely healthy. Phoenix being good this year is just fucking it all up.

47 games in and the Avs are still holding on.  Devils tomorrow afternoon at 1.  I love afternoon games at the Pepsi Center.  I think I will be jumping off the wagon this weekend.  Too much sports.

Avs took advantage of 3 power plays to get back into the game. I could not understand why the Avs would trade Wolski their second leading scorer, to pick up an underachieving second year pro Mueller and Porter from the Coyotes. But it worked out last night to end the Duckies 11 home game winning streak. Go Penguins!!!
