Leaving the house this weekend? Telling all your Facebook buds about it? You might want to reconsider that.

Police in Nashua, New Hampshire broke up a robbery ring this week that was using Facebook to plan their heists. The gang was monitoring Facebook pages to determine when a target would be out of their home and then robbed it. Some 50 home robberies were reported in the city with a population of 85,000 during August alone, although only 18 have been linked to the Facebook gang so far. As a result of breaking up the gang, Police say they've recovered $100,000 to $200,000.

Precisely the reason I'm constantly reminding my family not to get too carried away with their Facebook and/or Twitter accounts.

If someone is murdered using information on Facebook I will prosecute the creator/CEO of Facebook for Murder 2. I of course would have to get a DA job in the city where the murder occurred.  I would also have to get an education and a law degree, then get substantial work experience as a litigator in order to be considered for a DA job. Ill do it. I would be the real life Jack Mccoy.

My wife just opened a facebook account.  she is so low tech she thinks turning on the monitor turns on the computer.  She sent me a friend request on my facebook account and I rejected it :)

Dude, that made me literally laugh out loud here.  :lmao: I had several exact same incidents with family/friends that didn't know squat about computers. All they really had to do is take the time to read a little more and they'll find the big, colorful buttons that say 'SUBMIT REPLY'.  :lmao:

Omg I hate Facebook.  I hate this whole culture of self-important bullshit that causes people to think the whole world needs to know what they are doing, when they are doing it, that they need to stop and tell the masses how their day is going 25 times a day.  Especially Twitter.  I didn't know my friends were such idiots until I signed up for a Twitter account which I deleted 2 weeks later.  Read a book or something.  I was on FB for like 2 months and all my friends made me sick, plus it made me never want to, or have to , actually communicate with them like in real life.  Having kids and seeing all this texting and internerd crap makes me feel sorry for them that their entire life is going to play out through a series of text-type activities.  Plus most, if not all, of the people I know on those networking sites have been up to no good at one point or are currently up to no good looking up and talking to exes or new people or whatever.  Maybe my pals are just scandalous but I hear too many stories like that.  I am obviously guilty of nerding out online but shit yo, FB is the biggest timesuck I have ever heard of.  Sorry but in my world people who post their intent of absence online deserve to have their homes robbed for being such an idiot, they should post their socials and cc numbers next!

Jack McCoy is numero uno.  He's so hot in that litigious way.

We're on the same page concerning social networking ~G~. I had a MySpace account that I deleted, have a FB account I'm never active in, had a Twitter account I deleted after a few weeks. Just not my thing to tell every freaking person what I'm doing throughout every freaking minute of every day, let alone read what everyone else is doing.

Twitter goes 2 far.  Facebook has gotten me in touch with old friends.  Facebook also let my wife get in touch with her childhood friend who was in Louisiana during Katrina.  Plus I get to see how fat all the old girlfriends have gotten.

Chito, the worse case I had was about 10 years ago trying to get a woman I was trying to help to click the freaking mouse button.  I kid you not it was  10 minutes of

"Click the right mouse button to bring up a menu"
Her "I did, nothing happened"

After the 5 minutes, I got in the car drive 6 miles to the other job site.  Of couse she never clicked the right mouse button, she was clicking the left, then blamed technology for being so stupid

I use facebook, but everyone I add i know personally.
Other than that, I dont believe I have ever typed in what Im doing right now. If it was anyone else's business, they would already know.

And the robberies just go to show, people without out lives, can stand to stop wasting the air of all of us with the common sense gene.

True, unfortunately the Facebook craze is getting much worse from what I'm seeing. People are posting where their young kids are going to school.  :lame:

Definitely not the thing to be doing with molesters living on almost every block now. If you go to http://www.familywatchdog.us/ you can find out how many live near you, and the results are very surprising.

Alarming and disturbing (not surprising) are the only words I can think of from those results.
