My friend was on Facebook and opened a new tab and someone starting typing on his address thing. They where saying to get off his brothers computer and to use his laptop and they even opened Limewire and started downloading corrupted songs...how is all this possible?

My only two guesses would be one, you're friends brother (or someone he gave permission to) has an application similar to 'GoToMyPC.com' and was accessing his computer from somewhere else and did all that you saw. Or he was hacked. I would most likely believe the first guess, since you said that they were telling him "to get off his brothers computer and to use his laptop". You should tell your friend to bring what happened to his brothers attention and see if he gave permission for someone to log into his computer and use it to download songs like that. If his brother says 'no', then he better look into it before it happens again and they end up doing something much worse than just "downloading songs".

He could have used remote desktop.  If your brother has virus protection, I suggest he runs it immediately.  I had a virus where the person was able to get any username or password I typed.  They got my bank username and password then when I tried to log onto the bank website to lookup my account a dialog box showed up asking for my debit card number and other personal information.  I shut down the computer and called the bank immediately
