Loved to see the team going out to the Adenhart picture in the outfield to celebrate. Also pouring beer over his jersey in the locker room, amazing.Posted Image After going through all the injuries and the death of Nick Adenhart, they deserved this celebration.

Love what they did for Nick, this is a class organization. They deserve it and Nick and his family deserved it. Hats off to the Angel organization :go_angels: Now go get those muthaphuckas from beantown! Do it for Nick.

Yesh it sucks winning your division three straight years and 5 out of the last six. Six out of eight years in the playoffs sucks too. Too many phucking banners.

Like the Braves in the 90's? Winning it some of the way? WOW!!! And before you go on your 'since 88' thing. We only hang the Championship banners. No penants and no division titles. next

Angels have already won as many championships as Braves of the 90's. When they go to the playoffs 8 more years and win squat then you can compare them to the Braves. Next

Ok. So it seems that after reading some reader comments on articles, and now espn, that some people don't like the fact that the Angels dumped beer on Adenhart's jersey during the celebration, due to the way that Nick died. Why I get that argument, the way I see it, is that they were celebrating just as they would if Nick Adenhart were alive. They carried his jersey and set his locker for every game, both home and away. Now during a moment of happiness, after a moment of grief with his passing, it was as though they were as celebrating with their team mate.

Why celebrate at all? There' work to be done. I mean okay, RIP Adenhardt, but move on! They've been there WAY too many times to be jumping  around like a bunch of fools. And Alfredo Griffin?? He's lost his Dodger way! That's embarrassing.

I thought it was a little weird myself but I can see your point. He was their teamate and it was their choice of how to celebrate. Pouring his jersey with alcohol to me had a sense of irony and
I can see how some people might get upset but there was nothing more to it than the team celebrating and honoring Nick Adenhart the way they chose to. I just turned it off because it was a little bit over the top for me and winning the divison was anti-climatic. At this point as a fan winning the division does absolutely nothing for me. I expect Angels to win AL West for the foreseeable future. It is not enough to just win the division anymore. Typical BSPN looking to make a story out of nothing and analyzing things that do not need to be analyzed.

Usually I would agree that these celbrations are pointless. But it's been a more diifficult season than past ones, so I don't mind the celebration as much. Yes, pouring the beer on the jersey struck me too. But after thinking about it, I understood it and had no problem with it.

And remember that jumping around like fools statement, Paul, whenever the Doyers finally put away the division and are swimming in cheap beer and champagne.

We will see how Dodgers celebrate and if they make fools out of themselves like they did last year after just winning a playoff series against Cubs. I agree with you about over celebrating a mere division title when there is a lot of unfinished business. Alfredo was a Blue Jay and was just flapping his wings.. Maybe you should put the blame on Scioscia since he is in charge of the ship.

I wouldn't say we exactly made fools out of ourselves by winning a playoff series and then losing to the eventual champs in the NLCS. If they made fools of themselves for that, what did the Angels do? (COUGH) botched squeeze play...(COUGH) Red Sox! next!

I am talking about celebration after beating Cubs. Angels choked vs. Red Sox. Celebration vs. Cubs was way over top for a divisional series but what can you expect from a legendary franchise that went so long without winning a playoff series. Next

Every single team will act like fools when they make the playoffs. Phillies, Yankees, and Cardinals already did it along with the Angels. I garauntee the Doyers will do it tonight or tomorrow. So why is it worse when one team celebrates, than when another does? Hell, the wild card teams will go for an alcohol swim.
