Federal prosecutors have spoken with a former Lance Armstrong teammate who backed allegations that the seven-time Tour de France winner took part in and encouraged systematic doping, according to The New York Times.

The cyclist said he had spoken with investigators detailing his own performance-enhancing drug use and widespread doping by members of Armstrong's United States Postal Service team. The source did not say he told prosecutors about Armstrong's alleged use of PEDs, but said Armstrong knew of and encouraged doping, according to The Times report.

2 many people are starting to come out about Armstrong.  2 much smoke for their not to be a fire

Wait, they are criticizing Armstrong for taking PED's right? Didn't he have cancer? What if he used PED's to get back to shape? Is there anything wrong with that?

Any proof other than anonymous people and a proven liar and extortionist? According to some anonymous sources I have, Armstrong didn't do anything. By the way, I'd like to say how happy I am that our federal government is spending my tax payer money to try and find out if someone took PEDs. Why waste it on something silly like crime or getting out of debt?

I don't think the people working on this are also the ones responsible nor qualified for getting us out of debt.  If there is any proof he did the crime, he should be investigated and held responsible like the others

Well this a federal government investigation. So I think the money could be better spent.

If they can spend years trying to convict Barry BIGHEAD Bonds, they could spend some time on Armstrong

Is steroid use a federal crime? If it is, then for how long has it been? Is blood doping a federal crime?

That should have been baseball's job. If they wanted to stem steroid use, then they should be going after Bud Selig and Donald Fehr for having allowed it.

Steroids are illegal unless prescribed by a physician.
Blood doping amounts too cheating which amounts to fraud.  If Armstrong was doping, he got millions of dollars in endorsements and frauded those companies who signed him also frauding those competitors who didn't cheat, lost to him but otherwise had a change to win and get those endorsements

I would agree.  But the feds had no choice but to go after Lance, because they went after Barry.

2 catch a dealer, you have to start with the users.  The government has made some substantial steroid dealer bust in the past.  2 bad Vince McMahon got away free

He may be.  The investigation went to him and he turned on Armstrong.  The government is always giving amnesty for bigger fish.  It's not that they are really after armstrong but will lean on him for the supplier
