Chargers won the first 30 minutes vs. Jets. Do they get a trophy for that?
That was exactly my point before I erased my posts.

Chargers won the first half and the Jets the second. Doesn't that constitute a tie?  Javi, what are your thoughts?

Would have probably been a tie if Kaeding could have made a kick. Same thing happened in Cincy with Graham choking on even easier kicks. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. For as good as the Jets defense is touted, to be and they are pretty good, they gave up a lot of yardage and got lucky. They played a pretty crappy schedule this year and basically got byes when they played Colts and Bengals in regular season. The Chargers can look in the mirror to seee why they lost to Jets. Not like they got beat by a better team. Jets lost twice to Dolphins in the regular season, they ain't that freaking good and two playoff wins don't change that.

Chargers imploded with bad personal fouls.  Not very smart football.

Rivers interception was brutal as well. Brett Favre like. Cannot give away points like that in a tight defensive game. Chargers played the game way out of character with the way they played previous 11 games. That is why they choked. Jet defense is good but Colts proved that they are not invincible by any stretch of the imagination. Their defensive numbers were built against lightweight teams like Raiders, Bills (twice) and their last two boys of the regular season. They did shut down Texans and Saints to some extent. Dolphins shredded them twice and Pats once.

Very little margin for error in NFL playoffs. One and done not like the other 3 major team sports. A coach like Norv Turner does not realize that which is why I doubt that he ever wins a Super Bowl. Norv did a horrible job of not using a timeout befiore the two miute warning and even a worse decision in going with an onside kick which would have given Chargers bed field position if it did not succeeed and they had held. Norv also had to realize that LT was not doing jack in this game and give Sproles a shot. Loyalty is not good in a one game situation. The only reason Norv is coming back in my mind is that Rivers has a great relationship with him. Norv can put together some nice regular seasons but playoffs are a different story.

Chargers are a decent running back and a decent coach away from a Superbowl. They should have went after Jaws!

I wanted the jaw, but no...  Management would not listen to me.  I see where I stand as a fan.  They also need a nose tackle to replace Jamal Williams.  His best days are behind him.  Merriman won't be back and they need to trade Antonio "no tackling but I have 7 kids" Cromartie.  Tim to give Cason his chance.  Jammer is solid on the other side and Weddle is fast becoming a top safety in the league.  IMHO we have the best TE in the league and one the best WR in Jackson.  Now we need that RB that run through the tackles.  That will never be Sproles.  In fact, Sproles may not be back next year.  He was franchised this season but I don't see them paying him big cash to stay.  I love the little guy but he is only good in open space.  He kind of reminds me of a humming bird's wings.  Those little legs going a million miles an hour.

Colts will coast to victory.
Game will be over shortly after halftime, and the Saints will tack on a couple late, meaningless scores.

I have moved on to handicapping Super Bowl. I like Indy to win by double digits. If the Jets defense could not stop Indy how are the Saints with their Swish cheese defense going to do it? Vikings should have won by a couple of tds and I think Indy will get it done.  and get it done pretty easily. Close game for about a half but then it will be over by early 4th quarter. 41-24 if I had to pick a score.

I have this feeling that New Orleans will score in garbage time and ruin it for the sportsbooks or betters.
