I believe I have lost all the respect for Kanye West after what he just did.... How can you be so disrespectful to another artist and interupt her as she is accepting her very first award from the VMAs and tell the crowd that he believes Beyonce should have won.... sooo disrespectful!!!!!!!!

Rap itself doesn't suck.  Just like rock in the 80's.  There is a lot of bad rap out there.  It's not about talent anymore.  Kanye West is a better producer than a rapper, his lyrics aren't great but he music is good.  Great rap is like any other great music.  You don't know it's great until it passed the test of time.  You can still listen to "The Message", "What's my name", "How to survive in South Central", "Fight the power" and still have the same excitement as when you first heard it.  Everyone thought "Ice, Ice, Baby" was great when it came out, then it became a joke.  I wonder why those who say rap is crap even bothered with this thread, they obviously have a bias against it.

Those who say Tupac didn't put out anything good before deathrow is obviously clueless to his music.  "Dear Momma", "Keep Your Head Up", etc.    Lets also not forget Humpty and "Digital Underground"

This is a 'music' section, not "other people's music to rhyme over." It IS an art-form, expressionism and poetry. I woulda put this thread under 'arts and entertainment,' not music. Rap also spawned Rico Suave, Kid Rock and Vanilla Ice, and I'll NEVER forgive it for that!
