Hue got fired because the new GM already made a decision who he wants.  He said he had already made up his mind before he even officially was offered the job.  Injuries killed the raiders this year.  a healthy dmac and Campbell would have easily given the raiders the division.

What do the raiders do now?  MOVE TO L.A.
I really think that had the Raidas win that last game and making the playoffs, Hue Jackson would still be the HC of the Raidas.

I usually go to 1 game a year. Stay in Frico cause Oakland reminds me of the movie The Warriors.

last championship was in 2002 ron

Actually it was in 2003 AND THEY WERE DESTROYED by their former coach John Gruden 48 - 21 and the game wasn't nearly that close. The RAIDERS have not made the playoffs since.

It was close at first then it got away from them from the 2nd quarter on. There was one play in the 2nd quarter or 1st quarter, before the game got away from them, where Gannon threw a screen to Garner and he had nothing but daylight till the end zone but the pass was dropped. Had he completed that it could have changed the entire game. He didnt and what happened..happened.

The Autumn wind is a Raider
Pillaging just for fun
He'll knock you 'round and upside down
And laugh when he's conquered and won.

The RAIDERS have not done anything but regress since that tremendous beat down. Remind me: How many picks did Gannon throw that day? FIVE!! Three were pick sixes and the RAIDERS gave up 34 unanswered points. That was almost as bad as the beat down the Cowboys put on BUFFALO.

The RAIDERS will never do anything as long as they continue to hire a new head coach every couple of seasons. The good news NANIZM: Is that I know a fair amount about football, and barring a reinjury to DMC's Lisfranc tear  - he will be a top 5 RB this year. Unfortunately he is extremely fragile and will take a beating without a decent back up. I expect to see him used a lot more in the flat and in power sweeps. At least he should be. I really am not very impressed with the current coach, but the offensive line looks solid.  Palmer looks like a wreck and I like STREATER to replace DENARIUS.  The defense isn't particulary impressive but at least the RAIDERS were smart enough to dump that over rated bum Asomugha. He's a one dimensional bump and run cover CB with absolutely no ability whatsoever to tackle in the open field. He's already struggling in PHILLY. So nice move on the RAIDER's part for letting him walk.

I also think GOODSON needs to see the practice squad and MARCEL REECE needs to remain the lead blocking back and play from the offset I to provide better pass protection and a secondary outlet in the flat. If I were coaching the RAIDERS REECE would spell DMC straight up in a single back set. He's very fast, running an impressive 4.42 40. He's big powerful and has great hands. GOODSON is a bum. BUSH is a guy the RAIDERS should have done everything to keep. Alas another monumental personnel FK UP by the RAIDERS.  6 - 10 and will not sniff the playoffs.

The Raiders got their teeth kicked in, I know. I was just saying it WAS close up until that 2nd quarter.

I am not impressed with the moves the Raiders made this off-season. But, its the NFL and any team can go from bad to playoff team and vice versa. A team can inexplicably win 10+ games.
NFL is not the NBA. Its not about the best collection of players, it’s the best collection of players that are playing at their best at the right time.

Carson is still a very good quarterback. I wouldnt base his outlook for the season on pre season games. This is where he takes chances and just lets it rip. I expect a 25 TD, 20 int, 4k passing yard season from him.

If McFadden plays 12+ games and finishes the season, the Raiders will make the playoffs. That is a lot to expect out of McFadden unfortunately.

Bush was expendable. He was a nice compliment to McFadden but that isnt the guy you want as your starting RB which  is what he became when McFadden got hurt. He is good for short yardage but has no break away ability. Its 3 yards here, 5 yards there, etc. Defenses don’t have to play him for 50 yard breaks like a McFadden.

Denarious Moore is a stud and will be their leading pass catcher this season. Streeter looks good so far this pre season but its just preseason.

  • Naz , BUSH is a powerful runner and he carried the RAIDERS offense after DMC went down despite the disasterous mistakes that PALMER routinely made. GOODSON sucks balls period. He's injury prone, can not seem to secure the ball and does not read the offensive line well.  He can not block for shit and isn't fast. The RAIDER's loss is CHICAGO's gain. BUSH is a consistent down hill runner who can pass protect catch out of the backfield and power it in from the goal line. BUSH is far and away the better back. DENARIUS MOORE is an injury prone receiver that does not run routes well and has a history of bad hammy's. Which is  by far the worst case scenario for a team that relies on a  deep passing threat. HEYWARD BUST is the best receiver on the team and is also prone to injuries. FORD just can't catch despite his break away speed. He can't block either. STREATER is an excellent route runner with strong hands, and meets the ball consistently at it's highest point. He has the awareness to come back to his QB In hot reads. He's a perfect slot WR not afraid to run curls or drags, or slants over the middle. He's your man.

If DMC goes down as I expect he will. The RAIDERS are not going to see the playoffs. Even with DMC the team is too undisciplined and makes too many mistakes that result in 3 and outs for the team to be successful when forced to rely on the passing attack.  The offensive line is built for running and that is exactly what the RAIDERS should do if they expect to remain competitive.

I like the Raiders to cover the +3 tomorrow vs. Lions as a home underdog. As far as the season goes it is going to be more of the same shit for the Raiders as in no playoffs. Yep things can happen but I do not like their head coach, quarterback or defense. They have some talent but not enough to win their division or compete for a wild card in a very competetive AFC. That is my take. I have been saying pretty much the same shit season after season and the Raiders have not sniffed the playoffs during this time. Last year they were close but choked big time during the stretch.

Carson Palmer looked really good last night. His balls had zip and were consistently accurate. Even that one pass that almost got intercepted in the end zone was right where it had to be but it was just a good athletic play from the DB to get his hands on the ball. He just needs to get his 2 starting receives back to bring the deep threat and big play in to the fold then the possession guys like Streeter and Hagen will be more effective.

If not for the long snapper injury those bad snaps don’t happen and its an even game. A few bonehead plays cost them as well.

Im not too thrilled about the play calling either.  A little too much McFadden and they waited too long to start throwing it down field. When they began to throw downfield they scored.

McFadden looked and healthy. That is the key to the season.

Too many Three Stooges plays in the Raiders' playbook.  If they took those out, they may have won the game last night.

The RAIDERS are just too undisciplined to be successful.  The CHARGERS were without their best running back and still dominated. The RAIDERS are going to ge owned by DENVER and SAN DIEGO.

Very little chance they will finish ahead of Denver and Sandy Eggo.  This means yet another non-playoff season.

What are you talking about? You cant comment on the game if you didn’t watch it, which based on your comments you obviously didn’t.

The Raiders out gained the Chargers and were more efficient offensively. The only difference was the fumbles and issues with the bad snaps due to losing their long snapper. That’s it.

Game stats:

Total 1st downs: SD: 15, Raiders: 21

Total net yards: SD: 258, Raiders: 321

Net yards rushing: SD: 32, Raiders: 45

Passing yards: SD: 231, Raiders: 297

Penalties: SD: 9 for 78 yards, Raiders: 6 for 35 yards

Touchdowns: SD: 1, Raiders: 1

Red zone efficiency: SD: 1 for 5, Raiders: 1 for 2

Time of Possession: SD: 30:34, Raiders: 29:26

The Raiders were without their 2 starting receivers, their best offensive lineman in Wisniewski and lost their long snapper in game. Despite this, they still out gained and looked better on offense than the Chargers.
