Avalanche lose 9-1 and Forsberg retires after only two games. Joe Sacco's days as head coach are now numbered. I can't even give my tickets away for the last few games I have left to go to.

Sacco is not the problem. Last year was a mirage and sometimes a young team will take a step backwards. Avs should have never let Forsberg try and comeback. The result was totally predictable. Forsberg WAS a great player and the NHL was acompletely different league and style of play for the most part. Today's game is all about speed. Forsberg was not particularly quick when he was younger and healthier. It did not take him long to figure out he could not hang in the present. Good for him for not draging things out. Anderson was great last year and has been mediocre this year. That to me is the bigest diffrerence in the Avs this season. I had a grand on calgary last night and was alittle bit nervous until the game started. First score I saw was 2 - 0 Flames and it just got worse or better for me. I have been betting against the Flames for a couple of weeks. It has been easy money. They are dead for this year. Sacco should get one more season in my opinion.

They need to build around Duchene, get a solid defenseman and a solid goalie.

I read a rumor that some of the team wants Sacco gone and is quitting on him. In better news, the Ducks are on fire! Too bad they play in the toughest division in hockey.

Yep, that is the rumor. They don't like his drill sargent mentality.

They did not seem to have a problem with him last season when they were winning. Avs have lots of problems. Their defense sucks and they have had some injuries. Anderson is a shadow of the goalie that he was last season. I agree that the team should be built around Duchense. Time for Avs to shop around underachieving Peter Stastny in my opinion.

They have been a pleasant suprise. I will be at Honda Center when they play Avs a week from this Sunday. Was not crazy about trading Gardiner but he was drafted by Burkie and most of Burkie's first round picks have busted. Dallas is dying right now so Ducks have a great chance to win the division and get into the #3 slot.

Yeah, Statsny has dropped off considerably. Going to tonight's game against the Pens. No Duchene and no Crosby. There will also be no crowd.

Like I said, no crowd. Most of the fans there were Pen fans. Need this hockey season to end soon. This is painful to watch.

Yeah the Avs season is over. Fortunately they have Oilers intheir division otherwise a last place finish would be possible. They will wind up with a pretty high draft pick.

Good. They need to get a top notch defensiveman or goalie.

Avalanche just traded Anderson to the Senators for their goalie. This trade is weird.

Yeah Anderson was great last year and carried the team. i would have improved the defense during theoffseason and given him another chance next season. Ottawa is having a fire sale.

Yeah, Ottawa has been bad this year. I'm not sure how getting their goalie helps any.

Colorado just traded Stewart and Shattenkirk to St. Louis for Eric Johnson or Eric Brewer and someone else, can't remember. Either way, the Avs just took the Blues' underachieving young players for their very promising young players. I guess at the very least, it means Sacco is staying.

Yep, the team is being ripped apart. Johnson was a promising first round pick but got hurt goofing around on a golf cart. He is still young. Trading Stewart was ridiculous.

My Avalanche are over achieving and are currently 1 point out of the 8th spot. Very good young nucleus on the team.
