In any other sport giving your 30 year old star player a 12 year extension would be crazy, But in hockey it`s a pretty good thing. Nice to see the Canucks tie up Roberto Luongo for the long run.

My first game is October 1st.  I get to see Sakic's jersey raised to the ceiling.  Go Avs!

If I ever go to Colorado, it will be to go see an Avs game. I don`t care for any other sports in Cracklorado.

It is worth going to Coors Field for a game even if you are not a Rockies fan. went myself about three weeks ago when I was in Denver and had a great time even though they were playing Pirates. Would love to see an Avs game myself.

Kudos for starting this thread Shalong. Big fan of Luongo myself and nice to see he will be a Canuck the rest of his career barring a trade. Hope he will get to raise
Cup at some point in the next decade.

The Pirates  I can dig the Rockies and the Doyers at Coors field. I`m sure the tickets were 2 for 1 with a Chucky Cheese coupon. that must have been painful to sit and watch the Pirates, I hope you had plenty of mother natures best herbs!

Will be a special night for all hockey fans. Sakic is one of the very best players that I have had the opportunity to see play as well as the fact that he was absolutely clutch. Glad he finished his career with one franchise.

I love going to Coors Field.  I goto quite a few games a year.  I always goto one Bronco game, the one against the Bolts.  Avs games are great.  The Pepsi Center rocks.

I was lucky enough to see one of his hat trick games.

Yes we Hockey geeks needed some random Hockey talk. I bet the Islanders GM at the time Mike Milbury  must kick himself in the ass for letting him go.

It was actually a good game for about 6 innings. Pirates had a kid Morton who was bringing it but once they had to go to bullpen it got real ugly real fast. If the Rockies score more than 7 runs you get to use your ticket to redeeem it for 4 tacos for $1.00. since my girlfriend does not eat junk food of any kind i was able to get 8 tacos for 2.00 the next day when I had the major munchies.

Milbury was one of the worst traders of all time. He drafted okay but traded Bertuzzi,Zdeno Charra and a few others away for jacksh1t. He also sucks d1ck as an analysst.

Wayne Gretzky was a great player but a horrible coach, he should never be allowed to coach in the NHL again. Reminds me of Magic Johnson.

Gretzky hadn't been showing up at all during the preseason, yet collected an $8 million paycheck. No wonder that franchise is in the crapper. On another note, Bettman needs to go. He's running the NHL into the ground.

Agree with you on Bettman 100%. Was a Stern c0cksucker until he took over the NHL and has tried to lead it into oblivion but the product is actually too good. League is actually doing well despite Bettman and his moronic leadership that has league bradcasting on Vs. which I can no longer get thanks to Comcast. NFL and NHL are the most competetive leagues going right now and any of a dozen or so teams has a legit chance at raising Cup in June.
As for Gretzky he has been stealing a paycheck in Phoeniux for 4 seasons and has led that team exactly nowhere.

DirectTV won't be carrying Vs either. So instead of staying of staying on ESPN for less money but more exposure, Bettman took the Vs deal which gave him more money for the short term but far less exposure. The only good idea he's had is the Jan. 1 outdoor game. But I'm sure that'll be screwed up eventually.

Yeah, I know I have Direct Tv. I can get almost any game I want online for free but would prefer to be watching game in high definition on my 60' plasma. Let me know if you need any sites for free games on internet. I doubt if Bettman actually came of with the idea for the outdoor game but I am sure he will it phuck up before too long. Maybe Gretzky can become commisioner now that he is no longer coaching.
