Fish & Phil – Lakers Nation Wallpaper Tribute to Coach Phil Jackson
As we continue to tribute legendary coach Phil Jackson we offer a wallpaper that helps show Phil’s unmatched connection with the players he coached. This particular wallpaper shows Jackson embracing his longtime point guard Derek Fisher after defeating the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals.
“Basketball, unlike football with its prescribed routes, is an improvisational game, similar to jazz. If someone drops a note, someone else must step into the vacuum and drive the beat that sustains the team.” – Phil Jackson
Fisher and Jackson had a long relationship that began when Phil took over the Lakers in 1999. Fisher developed into Jackson’s trusted guard and the duo won five NBA championships together. This special bond is commemorated in this wallpaper that shows the two embracing after another successful championship run.
