ESPN: Lakers Invite Jason Kapono to Practice Facilities

Last season the Dallas Mavericks were one of several teams that were able to exploit holes in the current roster of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Now, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles it seems that the Lakers might be looking to solve some of their shooting woes with free agent Jason Kapono.

According to McMenamin’s sources the Lakers invited Kapono to the Lakers practice facilities on Monday. Kapono spent the last two seasons playing in Philadelphia for the 76ers. During his time in Philadelphia he averaged just 5.7 points per game. However, his career percentage from downtown is 43.7 percent, which could be very helpful to a Lakers team that desperately needs three-point help.

Due to the Lakers limited financial flexibility this off-season, Kapono would most likely be offered the veteran’s minimum salary from L.A., which would earn him about $1 million.
