Dwight’s Girlfriend Apologizes For ‘Laker Hater’ Hoodie

USATSI_7642423_154224518_lowresDwight Howard faced the Los Angeles Lakers for only the second time since signing with the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night and helped lead his new team to victory. Although Howard and the Rockets were able to avenge the loss to the Lakers from earlier in the season, it was Howard’s girlfriend that made the most headlines on Wednesday night.

Howard’s girlfriend, Christine Vest, wore a “Laker Hater” hoodie to the game on Wednesday and made a point of it to let everyone know it. Vest posted a few pictures of her sporting the “Laker Hater” hoodie on her Instagram account fueling the fire for die hard Laker fans.

Apparently, many Lakers fans took the hoodie to heart and blasted Vest for wearing it. Vest received enough of a backlash from the fans that she’s issued the following apology via Twitter:

“I sincerely apologize to all if the Laker fabs that i’ve clearly hurt in some way by wearing a fun “laker hater” hoodie to the game.”

It comes as no surprise that Vest would receive such a backlash from fans after the Dwightmare of last season that carried over into the summer and eventually resulted in Howard leaving for Houston.

On Feb. 17, the Rockets will head to the Staples Center for the first time to face the Los Angeles Lakers on their home floor. Kobe Bryant should be back in the lineup for that game while Howard will likely be dreading his return.
