Dwight Howard Trade Request “Still Stands”

Written by on 12/15/2011 in News - 4 Comments

News broke yesterday that the Orlando Magic had stopped listening to offers for their star center Dwight Howard, who has been the focus of trade rumors for the last two weeks.

However, that doesn’t mean that Howard is changing his tune.

According to the Orlando Sentinel it appears that Dwight Howard is reiterating his desire to be traded from the Magic to either the Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets or Los Angeles Lakers.

“It still stands. We know what’s going on,” said Howard. “I talked to Otis [Smith, Orlando general manager] today, and what we talk about is going to stay between me and him.”

This could be good news for the Lakers, who missed out on the Chris Paul sweepstakes after a controversial ruling from the league office. Even if Orlando refuses to trade Howard for now, his desire to be elsewhere doesn’t appear to be waning.

Whether or not the team trades Howard or not, his desire to play for a different team could ultimately work in the Lakers’ favor.

Let’s get him now but don’t give up too much though.

Last year we missed out on Carmelo deal because we thought Bynum is a valuable franchise type of player (which I thought from the very beginning was the dumbest thing I ever heard)! We cannot miss out on this deal as well! Whats life going to be like after Kobe retires? I love Kobe  and all the Laker players, however we need to think about the future. Players like Howard are not an easy find, not to mention while Kobe still has some gas in the tank we need to make this happen ASAP because they would be a great one two punch and would early combine for 50-55 pts a night together. Lastly Pau is a great player but his age is older than Howard not to mention no where near as dominant as Howard. As for Bynum his a great player also but he is not a franchise type of player, I cannot imagine building a team around Drew that would be a force to reckoned with!

I don’t know what are the Lakers doing despite all the drama I just know for a fact that we need some players to go far in playoffs cause this roster of la just not going to do much maybe same as last year or even worse I pray to god not but it’s going to be a test.
