Dwight Howard Rocks Lakers Purple & Denies the Heat Hard

By | July 26, 2011|

Via ProbasketballTalk.com – Dwight Howard made the trek down to super convention, Comic-Con, last week to promote his new Disney-XD Show, Kick Buttkowski, but you know the main question everyone was asking was whether or not he would be rocking the Lakers Purple & Gold.

The interesting to take away from this is when asked if the Lakers were in his future, he would deflect it, but when asked about the Heat:

Never!

That sounds perfect for me right now during this NBA Lockout.

By the way, we’re giving super-comic artist Rob Liefeld credit for trying to recruit Dwight to the Lakers:

Since you love and want Howard so much maybe you need to go to Orlando! This is a Los Angeles Lakers board and Andrew Bynum is our center under contract. Dwight need to figure out how he can win a ring for Orlando and stop blaming his team. He reminds me of Lebron James  they blame everyone but themselves.  Also what make you think Dwight will help the Lakers win anything after Kobe is gone? He can’t get Orlando over the hump!

The Lakers have a long history of building strong and long winning franchises. It only takes that one missing piece sometimes to get the team over that hump. The thing that happens is that the other NBA teams are doing the samething. Seriously did anybody really really think the Mavs would win the title? Once L.A. and Boston were out, everybody was already giving the Championship to Miami. The Lakers are built on height and size, outside shooting and Kobe just willing a win. Can Howard be an asset? Sure he can, if Kobe can win with Shaquille he can win with just about anybody.
The Lakers need to sign a young player very very soon who will be our franchise once Kobe retires, who better to build a new team around than D-Howard? As long as Dr Buss is running the show in L.A. He won’t stand for a high priced player losing year in and year out in L.A. Remember this isn’t the L.A. Dodgers!
