TMZ is reporting that Lakers Small Forward Ron Artest is teaming up with 44 Blue Productions to pitch a reality television show to networks.

The premise of the reality show is to watch Artest help mentor parolees with a team of health experts and life coaches, so that these parolees can take control of their lives and make that last second shot life has given them. After the Malice in the Palace, Ron Artest has truly done a 180 in life and become a huge supporter for mental health care issues as well as helping all over the community.

We all know Ron Artest has a huge heart and with him winning the NBA’s Community Service Award this past season, it looks like he’s on his way to continuing his assists off the court like he did here with patients at UCLA:

How about Odom and Artest work on there game during the off season and focus on that. They are paid millions and millons of dollars, the same with Gasol a 17 million dollar a year contract should keep you from playing for the Spanish team. These players seemed so disinterested this year in playing. The Kobe laker era is over. Kobes game is in decline, the lakers are way over the cap, Fisher is washed up. Odom is busy on his reality show having his wife make him look like a half wit. Artest is busy with all of his projects and Gasol either went into a serious physical decline of his skills this year, or he is a psych. Job. Teams know if you charge at the basket with your quickest players and if you rough up Gasol the lakers have no response. There are other up and coming teams and the Heat big three will be together at least three  years. In three years Kobe will be washed up. Memphis, Oklahoma and others are close to competeing for a title. Lakers fans need to have realistic expectations.

First of all they do need to prepare in the off season. To say that Kobe is washed up and his era is over is absurd. Who else in the sport can do what we know he can do. He hasn’t done it in a long time, who cares. How many games have they played the last four years, more than any other player playing in the NBA. They needed a break. Next season it will be back to business as usual. Kobe is washed up??? Wow, I don’t think the rest of the NBA believe that. An 80% Kobe is way better than 100% of 98% of the NBA. They needed rest. They are getting it. End of story.

Markjsunz, obviously is not a Laker fan.  I agree with Evakleire the lakers have been in the finals four straight years- thats alot of basketball.  I believe it’s equivalent to more than an extra season of basketball.  Yes, they were exposed by quick point guards and Gasol checked out for some reason, maybe fatigue.    Odom played in the World Championship and was very good this season (6th man award), to say that his wife messed him up is ridiculous this was his best season in a very long time.   Kobe had a number of ailments, which could be contributed to the number of years in the league, but outside of  James, Wade, Durant, Dirk, Melo, who is comparable or better than Kobe.  What do you know that the league don’t know, they continue to double team him and try to get the ball out of his hand.   Bottom line sure-up the bench, better defender at the guard level and rest =Championship

Sorry,  I made a mistake.   The lakers made it to the finals 3 straight years and was in the playoffs for the fourth straight year

I am a hugh laker fan however what I saw and what you saw are different. I saw a team in decline, a team that was slow, a team without a gaurd, a team not unlike San Antonio or Boston. These were great teams that won Championships. My opinion is the Kobe era is history. It is to bad Kobe makes Dr. Buss so much money because he would bring back young talent or a top draft pick. As for Gasol he had some sort of a mental breakdown and the other teams rough handled him and he spit out the bit and stopped. Without him the lakers do not go to the three straight finals but who is going to show up at camp this year. The timid meek Gasol who is soft as Charmin, or a recommitted Gasol? Unless the lakers get a quality point guard they have no chance. Lets also not forget we live in SO. California, it is not like it is freezing cold outside, and there is so much to do. It is cool to watch the lakers on TV, but a family of four would be at least a grand to go to a game. Not many working guys want to spend that money, Especially when Kobe and co. did not feel like playing that night.
