Lakers Nation Breakdown: D’Angelo Russell’s Injury And Brandon Ingram Steps Up
D’angelo Russell’s Value To Lakers Has Never Been Clearer
Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a difficult time with the injury bug this season, with seemingly every key player missing time due to one ailment or another. On Friday night point guard D’Angelo Russell fell victim again, and he’s now expected to miss at least one week with an MCL sprain and bone bruise.

The Lakers Nation Breakdown takes a look at how Los Angeles will attempt to compensate for playing without him, plus the schedule ahead and identify a particularly well-timed break that may allow Russell to miss minimal action.

As Russell exits, we also discuss the rise of Brandon Ingram, who will be asked to step up and so far has spent the month of January proving that he is more than capable of doing so. All that and more on the latest episode of the LN Breakdown:
