Brian Shaw and Jerry Sloan Offer No Comment on Lakers Situation

By | November 9, 2012|

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most recognizable teams in sports and their head coaching position is a very coveted job. The team recently fired Mike Brown, which means the front office is looking to find someone else to run this talent-laden roster.

Minutes after the news broke out that Brown was no longer head coach, a list of possible replacements emerged, which included Brian Shaw and Jerry Sloan. Shaw is now an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers, and Sloan, one of the greatest coaches in league history, is retired.

Lakers Nation reported earlier that Sloan was interested in the Lakers job, but he and Shaw did not offer comments regarding the recent firing of Mike Brown.

It is no surprise that the two did not say anything about the vacant head coaching job in Los Angeles. Sloan does not want to create any more buzz and Shaw is already with another team, and this kind of rumor may distract the Pacers from playing basketball.
