BREAKING: Jordan Hill Agrees To Re-Sign With Lakers On Two-Year Deal

Jordan Hill was expected to leave the Lakers after a season in which his playing time fluctuated. But things have changed as Hill will remain with the Lakers according to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski:

The Lakers were in dire need of size so keeping Hill makes sense. The price may be a little steep, but he knows the Lakers, and the team keeps financial flexibility for 2016.

Hill was a fan favorite last season as he provided rebounding and energy for the Lakers in the best season of his career. Dirty work guys are hard to come by and Hill is one of the best.

His presence will also help first-round pick Julius Randle as he will make sure that Randle plays hard on every play and works his butt off at all times.

The Lakers have been extremely busy today after being silent since free agency began. After LeBron James made his decision to go to Cleveland, all of the other dominoes began to fall.

Jeremy Lin was acquired in a trade with the Houston Rockets, not long after, Nick Young agreed to stay with a four-year deal, and now Hill stays as well.

The Lakers are building a team, and still have a ways to go. But it is good to see some things finally begin to come together.

I love Hill so I’m glad he’s back. Really needs to work on consistency but nevertheless he’s a sparkplug

    • CHVRLIE

he has consistency in rebounding. :)

    • LakersOverEverything

Sparkplugs are worth 9mil these days?

      • LakerSpartan117

Hey its not my money!! ;)

        • LakersOverEverything

          Well, it’s official. A mediocre next 2 years….

          • Mark Rigney

Did you ever doubt that? That was sealed when they paid Kobe they way they did…

          • LakersTank

Exactly. I’m so amused how many dumb fans out there who couldn’t figure out when the FO gives Kobe that $48M extension, it literally kill the chance for the Lakers to compete for the next 2 years.

          • LakersOverEverything

No, it never killed the CHANCE. It did make things more difficult tho

          • jim2

I agree. It was basketball suicide.

          • wangkon936

Basketball suicide? Never. Not while Mitch is our GM.

          • wangkon936

Maybe not. We will have around $23-24M of cap space next year for the 2015 FA market.

          • Joseph Rejekt

The deal is 2nd year team option. So at the least it’s a 1 year 9M contract with nearly 30 million available next year between him, Lin and Nash coming off.

          • LakerSpartan117

Second year is a team option… The only thing that is mediocre here is your optimism for this team. GTFO

          • Rey

Where does it say it’s a team option?

          • LakerSpartan117

Go to bleacher report and look for the article that says we signed Jordan. You’ll find it.

          • LakersOverEverything

How bout you gtfo. I’m one of the few who think this team will make the playoffs so I don’t wanna hear crap about me not being optimistic. Realistically, where do you think we will land? Because anywhere between 5-10 is mediocre by definition.

          • LakerSpartan117

Every year I hope we surprise the world and win a championship, spiting those fuckers from ESPN. And no, anything 8 to below is mediocre. With this roster, it would be a crazy if we made it past an 8th seed. But I hope we do…
Because if we are out of the playoffs, midway through the season, we need to tank to the bottom in order to preserve our lottery pick (top 5 protected). I would rather see us retain that pick, instead of lose it and still be terrible all season. I just couldn’t watch Kobe be stuck on a terrible team.

          • LakersOverEverything

Mediocre just means average, so yeah 6-10 is mediocre. I’m not knocking our team, I think we’ll fall between 6-8. Thing is, once you make the playoffs all bets are off. A kobe led team has a chance to beat anyone in the playoffs. Oh, and certainly no tanking this year. I doubt we’ll be that terrible, and kobe wouldn’t allow it anyway….neither would swaggy and randle, don’t think

      • Tru3Lakers

Second year is team option for Hill…they will have money to spend next year when Nash, Lin, and Hill off the book

      • MambaNation

        Most expensive sparkplug ever. HAHA

Jordan Hill has a high PER.When he started he was putting up great stats.

    • LakersHeatBeef

The Lakers signed Jordan Hill to a 1 year+1 Year Team Option.

    • Joseph

      BRING BACK DEVIN EBANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • wangkon936

Wasn’t he suppose to be the next Trevor Ariza?….hahahaha….

  • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

With Hill and Randle, this team will have NO problem rebounding.

    • Yo Mamma

      No rebounds no rings.

      • MambaNation

        LoL no offense no game.

        • Anthony

We have kobe no offense your crazy

          • MambaNation

Kobe is only 1 man…avg 25pts a game max coming off those injuries. u want him to torn his fucking Achilles again like 2 years ago?

    • Jim213

      Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA

“Pau Gasol turned down a two-year, $10M-plus per deal with the Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. Likely moving on.”

Good luck to Gasol, however, sign Omeka Okafor to a 1 yr $5-6 mil deal given he didn’t play this past season.

  • http://rantsofascorpio.wordpress.com/ Evan

Lakers are pulling the trigger now. Got the trade for Lin and draft picks, brought back Young and now Hill.

Looks like Bosh might stay in Miami and HOU might lose Parsons so that draft pick might be a little higher than we thought.

    • Jim213

      Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA

“Suns and Kings are finalizing a sign-and-trade deal on a four-year, $27M contract for Isaiah Thomas, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.”

Given the Lakers have just acquired Lin for one season it’s cool.

      • LAstory

Wonder what the Suns have planned… with 3 pgs on their roster..??

        • Jim213

Likely just an insurance to Bledsoe but if they’re willing to get rid of Dragic then he’s a good reliable player for the 1. One of them will likely get traded down the road IMO.

    • LakersTank

Now, if we can sign & trade Pau for Boozer and get back another 1st round, we can start strategizing for the future.

      • Joseph Rejekt

Boozer sucks ass. If the Lakers really want Boozer, they can wait for Chicago to amnesty him and pick him up for the minimum for a year rather than paying him the bulk remainder of his contract.

        • Lakers4evah

the purpose of a sign and trade on gasol for boozer is to get a 1st round draft pick for next season.. why would u now want a sign and trade for that? thats the best deal u’ll ever get instead of signing old ass boozer and not gettin any but an inconsistent play?

          • wangkon936

I would get Boozer for another 1st round pick.

          • Joseph Rejekt

Most who usually talk about getting Boozer actually like him for some stupid reason. Didn’t realize he had an expiring deal. Getting a pick for a year burden definitely worth it.

  • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

Now if only we could get Lance Stephenson somehow..

    • wangkon936

      Ain’t gonna happen. Sorry.

  • musaamos

    am loving this. common LANCE!!!!

  • WAYNER

18 mil wat the hell is they just giving money away.

    • LakersOverEverything

I don’t like that shit at all. 9mil??

      • LAstory

They may as well use and spend the money, Kevin Love was the target for 2015… he isn’t a option.. the Lakers are looking at 2016… Hill deal doesn’t affect the cap then, Kobe comes off the books, Nash will be off the books (unless they stretch him) and Lin comes off next year….

        • LakersOverEverything

Good point about Love tho. I was saying earlier, it’s durant in 2016 or nothing for a long while. Smh

          • LAstory

I had a feeling that Durant was the Lakers target a little more than Love, I think we has fans wanted Love due to he being a UFA in 2015… and can you imagine the cap space the Lakers will have in 2016… it should be epic…

          • LakersOverEverything

I kind of doubt durant would come though. We’ll see

          • LAstory

Yeah you maybe right on that.. I need to go google to see who’ll be available…

          • Joseph Rejekt

            Both are the target.

          • LAstory

Not if Love is traded to Cavs

        • wangkon936

Kevin Love is still in the cards. We will have $24M in cap space in 2015.

          • LAstory

Not if he’s traded to Cavs…

          • wangkon936

            Then there’s Aldridge.

          • Joseph Rejekt

More than that depending on how the cap looks next year. Hill’s contract being only 1 year guarantee, the Lakers are looking at closer to $30 mil available next year.

    • PANIC/OVER SPENDING

should of got 4 yrs for that kind of money fuckin stupid im glad we kept him before gasol but 18 mill for 2 yrs

    • Joseph Rejekt

2nd year is a team option. It’s a guaranteed 1 year $9 million deal. Expiring contract at this point. Lin, Hill, Nash off the books next year means $30 million again to chase another star.

  • LakersWhy2014

9 million a year for Jordan Hilll??wow lakers management is a joke

    • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

He would have got a similar contract somewhere else.

      • Mitch Wheels

But considering how bad this Lakers roster is, the Lakers didn’t have to be the one to give it to him

    • Tru3Lakers

Second year is team option is not that bad

    • Joseph Rejekt

Only 1st year guaranteed. 2nd year is a team option.

  • Nexzen

    Should’ve given Pau that $9 mill instead…

    • BULL

im guessin pau told them he was out ..

      • LakersOverEverything

Almost had to right? For them to be throwing money like this….

    • DKWTTY

Pau probably going to the Bulls or something.

    • OVER SPENDING AGAIN

pau was offered 2 yr 20 mill he said no so fuck him and im glad Houston got fucked by Bosh how does that feel Howard lol

    • Tune

Pau said no to 10 mil already, he’s gone.

  • apeknows

great. GREAT!!! All hail Mitch!!! (looks pretty much sealed up that ‘melo won’t come, though)

  • LakersWhy2014

Lakers are Two years away from being Two years away

  • LakersOverEverything

What in THE fuck??? 9mil?? Why so much tho? Are we just giving money away? This isn’t the plan B I had in mind at all

    • Joseph Rejekt

Teams have to a minimum they have to spend on players which I believe is $57 million. He’s 9 million dollars that comes off the books next year since only the 1st year is guaranteed. Nash, Lin, Hill, that’s nearly $30 million free next year for a star.

      • LakersOverEverything

Hey, that’s right. Thanks, I forgot about that. I still wish we had pursued lance though. Is westbrook a free agent in 2016. Stealing him and durant both from the thunder would be love. Doubt it happens tho lol

        • Tune

WB is 2017 I believe, he should be our most legitimate target honestly. I highly doubt KD will leave, WB and KD are counterproductive being on the same team. KD needs a PG like Rondo or CP3. WB fits the Lakers culture perfectly and will be exactly what we need. If we can get Lance now for the longest contract a backcourt of WB/Lance with Randle at PF, we’d be looking at a strong contending team with Swaggy P as our 6th man. If not WB, we should aim for Reggie Jackson in I think 2016.

          • LakersOverEverything

I would LOVE that. I’ve pretty big on WB, myself. He just had that fire and competitive spirit, ya know. It seems whenever okc needs something big, WB is the one to get it done. Not to mention, he’s the only one who didn’t choke against the heat in 2012 finals

      • LakersOverEverything

You’re right. I had forgot that. Thanks

  • Mitch Wheels

The one thing the Lakers had going for them was cap space……..

    • Jeff

And they will have that. This is all short term. Young is the only one and that’s a good deal.

      • Mitch Wheels

Not sure it really is considering his overall body of work. Seems like they’re putting a lot of stock into one seas

        • Tune

He’s easily a top 3 six man in the league in my opinion. Maybe 4th if you count Reggie Jackson as a 6th man since he started for a while with WB injured and started in the playoffs.

  • BULL

damn what? 9 mill a year? that shit should of went to lance or something got damn .. we aint got no money no more.. seem like the only upgrade is Lin and pick I would of given that to deng or ariza

    • Lakers

You’re not seeing the big picture here. Its a 2 year deal so by 2016, they would have an extreme amount of cap space. 2015 won’t have anyone either cause I doubt Minny lets Love go for nothing. 2016 is where it’s at.

      • Joseph Rejekt

Bigger picture, only the 1st year is guaranteed. 2nd year team option lol.

    • Joseph Rejekt

Lance Stephenson is a freakin headcase and a moron. Why do people have a hardon for that idiot?

  • John

Great pickp, we stll have financial flexability for 2016!

    • wangkon936

We have flexibility in 2015 too! $24M cap space in 2015!

  • Ryan Richards

I really like Hill because this guy can score..the problem was that he didn’t get much playing time (thanks to the ex coach).. So I can live with this deal

  • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

Wow all that for Hill really?

    • DKWTTY

Check his numbers. It’s a steal. A lot of players are getting the same or more.

      • LakersOverEverything

Should’ve been spent on acquiring better talent. My opinion

        • DKWTTY

Not many big men on the market that bring what he does so we take it.

          • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

Still Hill must be over the hill!

  • BULL

Gasol must of told them he was out .. they figure they like Hill in the middle

  • Double

I’m guessing Melo informed them that he has another team/teams in mind…

  • Badazztj12

9 mil is kinda too much just saying

    • Brandon A. Benitez

Yeah that’s an overpay I didn’t like it

  • wangkon936

Okay fellas. I think we are done.

    2014-15 season
    - Jordan Hill- $9M
    - Nick Young- $5.4M
    -Jeremy Lin- $8.7M

That leaves only $991k for cap space left. There’s your “Plan B” folks!

    • LakersOverEverything

A complete joke of a plan B. I was expecting to go after some real B level free agents

    • DKWTTY

lol Yesterday they told me calm down plan b would be perfect.

    • wangkon936

We have “just” enough money to resign either Xavier Henry or Bazemore, but not both… :(

      • Travis Jordan

then we get 20million more when gasol leaves too

      • Kenny Leivan

You can resign anyone on your roster from last year to go over the cap, so it’s not if they have enough cap room. It’s all about how much money they want to spend

        • wangkon936

Yeah, but the catch is that if it’s a multi-year deal, then their salary counts against your cap if you wanna sign FAs in 2015 or 2016. So. you still have to be careful how you use it.

    • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

wow thats sad if its true :(

      • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

oh wait aint we still got all those exceptions?

    • Terrence

Cap is $63 million. luxury is 76 million. Nash and Lin off the books after next year. Hill and Kobe off the books in 2 years. Perfect for rebuilding.

      • wangkon936

Not in 2015. Will only have $4.5M of cap space in 15. But good for 2016. We will have $41.5M of cap space then (Kobe’s monster contract comes off the books).

    • Travis Jordan

you seem to be forgetting that we are about to give up an additional 20mil when gasol leaves.

    • DKWTTY

No in total now it’s about $57, 731, 486. They can get rid of Nash and get rid of Marshall. His deal isn’t guaranteed. Salary cap is $63 million. So they have about $5.3 million left, get rid of Nash and Marshall somehow and it goes up about $10 million left to sign players.

    • Isaac Settle

You’re not subtracting Hill and Young’s cap holds. They have room for a 10m player.

  • Lakerfan

What the hell are they doing??? What a waste of $9 million/yr.

  • LAforever.

I wasn’t aware he was so valuable… But none of those were the TRADE were like a home run sort of thing, might be something good coming. Bye Bye Pau, I think. He’s going to NY.

    • Ryan Richards

I rather have Lin than Nash.. and no, he isn’t overrated.. Since he a good “B+” PG

    • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

He’ll be looking for a contender so def not NY…

      • Isaac Settle

hoping Chicago because they have to sign and trade; not sure about the Spurs?

  • Lakers4Life

Too much money for Hill, but I like the Young deal. What a sad sad day for the Lakers with LeBron not joining us.
And if we get Lin who’s totally overrated, say bye to Melo as well. Don’t expect any championships for Kobe during his 2 year contract, unfortunately.

    • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

“sad sad day for the Lakers with LeBron not joining us”
unless that was sarcastic…dude what you on!

  • LakersWhy2014

besides swaggy p coming back this has been a bad day for laker fans

    • Travis Jordan

a bad day? we got a good point guard and 1st round draft pick for nothing… brought back a potential 6th man of the year, and locked in a double double center. I think it’s pretty good.

  • rival

Should of paid a little more for Monroe

    • BULL

but we have Randal at least Hill can play center

      • rival

Yea he looks better there than sacre

        • BULL

hahaha I hope Sacre is getting his game up .. aye 7 watch lakers channel Jerome Jordan 7ft jamican dude.. big man .. hope he plays good we can use him

  • ɢᴏᴅ ᴄʜʀɪϟϟϟ✞
  • westbrouk and love please

2016? the lakers seem screwed for another 5 years.

    • Ryan Richards

They already screwed themselves by paying Bryant way too much money

      • LakersOverEverything

        Fuck off

        • BULL

hahahaha that’s right lakerovereverything .. I don’t pay bloggers like those no mind

        • Ryan Richards

You pissed off because I’m right? Name me one good player the Lakers got in FA in the last three years that turn the season around..

          • LakersOverEverything

Fuck off means exactly that. I don’t even know what you’re responding to me for. My last reply

          • Ryan Richards

Name me one good player the Lakers got in FA in the last three years that turn the season around.. They couldn’t because the Lakers don’t have a huge CAP space..

          • LakersOverEverything

You’re going to insist on us doing this huh? Yeah they actually did have cap. It’s just been mismanaged. But I’m not going to complain anymore until I see the full roster. I still hate jordan hill getting more than 4-5mil tho

          • Ryan Richards

Fair enough.. but it just my opinion.. like you have your.

          • meep

you sometimes got to pay to get talent.plus this year alot players are getting paid. also with the lack of talented centers hill was the best one left.

    • Terrence

What are you talking about? It’s only two years. Kobe comes off the books that year too.

      • BULL

don’t mind him Terrence.. hes one of those fans that want to see every one here .. I think we could of gotten him a lil cheaper but there are only two good centers .. the rest are forward centers .. still too steep but ill take that ..

        • Ryan Richards

Really? I’m one of those who thinking about long term than on the short term.. Look at the Warriors, or hell, even the Clippers.. Every since the Lakers won the last NBA championship, they went downhill fast.. They get Nash (who is old) and Howard but now what happen? Howard is gone and Nash is on a injury bug..

  • Ray-Marcus

    I love Hill….but 9 million is a bit much

    • Orlando Foolridge

I love hill. Per 48 he goes 22 and 17. He’s a SOLID 15/10 guy in the league who a good locker room dude. D’antoni ABUSED him in press conferences about his conditioning and still, Hill is mellow and contributed. It’s pretty well known that Hill LOVES that green stuff and I’m not talking about money. I think that if he takes his career seriously and puts that bong down and gets in shape and can be a legit 18/12 guy in the league. He makes a ton of effort and has a great attitude and that’s always good to have on your team. $9M is alot, but if parsons is going for 15…$9 is about right for him.

      • Ray-Marcus

I dont know….he did win some games for us last year with his offensive rebounding and hustle but now we barely have any money to add a quality piece. The team is only a star or a budding star away from playoff contention with the way things are shaping up

        • Ray-Marcus

In other news Jordan Clarkson looked good in the summer league today…he can handle and finish at the rim…anybody else watch?

  • LakersWhy2014

melo gone, bledsoe gone, monroe gone, deng gone, heck i would’ve taken sessions and turner

  • Yo Mamma

    Okay Gasol, now’s your turn.

    • tyree

Pau just turned down a 10 mill a year for 2 years offer smh

  • westbrouk and love please

call me crazy but im hoping pau to bulls in a sign n trade. we get boozer and 2 firsts . i would do that in a second.

  • Brandon A. Benitez

So basically the fo isn’t even trying to get Lance Stephenson :( what the fuck man he would’ve been perfect

  • ɢᴏᴅ ᴄʜʀɪϟϟϟ✞
    • Mitch Wheels

Which almost sucks because it means they won’t get a top 5 pick and won’t have cap space either…sigh

      • BULL

? what? our pick from Houston is good enough to work with.. Love is going else where.. just be patient and watch Randal work son!

    • kookiebuger

This team isn’t much better from last year (looks worse) especially if Gasol doesn’t return.

      • meep

how they are 2x better without mike as coach

        • kookiebuger

The Cavs lost 26 games in a row with him as head coach, people seem to be over looking this.

          • meep

but scott would have more talent with the lakers then he did with the cavs. he had a nice PG but a center who has a hard time staying healthy

          • kookiebuger

How? Lin is ok, compared to Marshall and Nash he’s a saint but he’s not a great defender, kind of inconsistent, and I don’t see him stopping CP3, Westbrook, Curry, Parker,Wall,Irving,Rondo,Lowry,Rose (if healthy), etc.

          • meep

it called team defense something the spurs do well and get them rings every now and then

          • kookiebuger

            If you say so.

      • Bira Deodato

How come this isnt better? Even though people dont rely on Lin, he is an upgrade compared to nash, farmar and marshall, clarkson as a backup point guard will be fine. Shooting guard Kobe and Young seems fine for sg, pf and c will rely on randal, hill, kelly and sacre, from those 4, 1 has great potential and 2 are great players. Our problem now is the small forward, we could sign ariza and get mini-vet for the sub. Lin, Kobe, Ariza, Randal, Hill isnt as bad as Randall, Young, Johnson, Hill, Gasol. Of that team only Young and Hill are fine, Gasol was inconsistent.

        • kookiebuger

Okay, please tell me who is the 2nd go to scorer? How will Kobe play when he returns? Kelly,Sacre, really? They are bench warmers on just about any other team. Defensively this team looks awful only Kobe and Hill play defense on this team. Lin is ok compared to Marshall and Nash he is better then them, from what I’ve read read Ariza wants a 12 million dollar contract the most the Lakers can offer at this point is about 6 million (Kobe 23, Nash 9, Hill 9, Lin 8, Young 5, Sacre 1, Marshall 1, Kelly 1 = 57 million, they still haven’t signed Randle 3-4 million and Clarkson = 1) and they also have to fill out the rest of the bench which might be D- League talent.

  • Michael

I hope most of their FAs are 2 year deals, leaving us with a ton of space when their done(Kobe’s contract gone).

  • DKWTTY

In other news, Lakers are getting beat as usual in this summer league game.

    • Al Haldie

why don’t u go watch the GIRLS play–you cant keep everyone happy all the time.

    • kookiebuger

Randle isn’t playing, watch the Cavs and Bucks game that should be interesting watching Parker vs Wiggins.

  • Mitch Wheels

“The Lakers are building a team, and still have a ways to go. But it is good to see some things finally begin to come together” Moves happening for the sake of moves is not good news..

  • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

To the people complaining about the off season moves..
The Lakers can’t pull super stars out of their ass every year. You guys have to be realistic. EVERY team has to rebuild at a certain point. Where you guys not around for the Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, and Luke Walton days?
    Stop being so whiny.

    • BULL

these are the Miami heat fans of Lakers you speaking about.. not al some.. im happy with whats going on.. too much for hill but I like it lin is a def upgrade.. now lets get rid of nash contract and get Ariza

      • kookiebuger

Ariza isn’t coming, the Lakers have about 7 million left in cap space (kobe 23, Nash 9, Lin 8, Hill 9, Young 5, Sacre 1, Marshall 1 = 56 million) Ariza wants at least 12 million from what I’ve read.

    • Brandon A. Benitez

I like the moves so far but do you think jordan hill was overpaid? I feel he was

      • meep

lakers did what ever to get a big, all the good ones are gone and i bet pau gone too

        • Brandon A. Benitez

Makes sense when you put it that way, I would after all take hill over monroe

      • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

Yeah, a little bit.. but I’m guessing Pau said he wasn’t going to return, so the Lakers had no choice but to over pay a little bit. I think he would have easily got a similar contract around 2 years $14 million from many other teams.

        • Brandon A. Benitez

Yeah plus he did have a fairly productive year

      • Al Haldie

Why – he plays hard every minute of every game…

        • kookiebuger

He’s kind of injury prone but I like Hill.

    • LakersWhy2014

in smush, kwame and luke days, kobe was young and their was hope

    • Mitch Wheels

This is not rebuilding though. This is the opposite of rebuilding. Rebuilding would be saving cap space and trying to fill the team with young talent. Not spending loads of money and term on a career 6th man and an average big man.

      • http://people.ign.com/ltsjoemama ltsJoeMama

They can’t keep giving out 1 year deals. They had to take some risks. In 2 years all player contracts will be off the books (Except for Nick Young’s) So they’ll have PLENTY of cap then.
Plus, Nick Young’s $5 million a year for 4 years is nothing. The only questionable deal is Jordan Hill’s. But he would have easily got a similar contract to this.

      • Isaac Settle

Hill’s 9 million can come off next year; Lin’s 8.7 comes off and Nash has over 10m coming off. Add it up and you begin to see cap space. If they want more cap space they can trade Gasol for Boozer in get 40m off the books.

  • meep

9 mill a year for hill he going to start and i guess lakers feel pau gone

  • ɢᴏᴅ ᴄʜʀɪϟϟϟ✞
  • meep

lakers needed a big and lakers did what ever to get one. all the good bigs are gone and i bet lakers thought pau gone too

    • Al Haldie

Hill also plays out of PF – and does a good job.

  • lakers32

    potential starting lineup

    PG Lin
    SG Young
    SF Bryant
    PF Randle
    C Hill

    bench: Nash, sacre, kelly

with nash coming off the payroll next year, it pretty much negates the hill deal this year for 9 mill. so next year they can still go after a legit free agent or even trade deadline. i think the main thing is that we have SOMETHING now instead of NOTHING. its a start and as of right now, 8th seed is a possibility. lol.

    • LakersWhy2014

      in the west no way

    • Mitch Wheels

It pretty much negates? One crappy contract for another doesn’t work that way.

  • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

After all the crap we put Pau through. Now we see just how much we ought to have appreciated him. He’s gonna be a champ somewhere else.

  • Al Haldie

Welcome back HILL happy u signed back with the LA LAKERS

  • meep

so is randle hill the bigs that would be fun to watch. both old school back to the basket bigs

  • David Alejandro Haros

IF Pau wants to come back they can still pay him. We have his Bird rights, and can go over the cap to re-sign him.

    • LakersOverEverything

      I really hope they do.

    • meep

at this point i think pau gone.

    • Mitch Wheels

Woj just reported he turned the Lakers offer down and won’t be coming back.

      • David Alejandro Haros

That’s why I said IF! Thanks for the update though!

  • AC

$6.3 Mil per year for 3 years would’ve been good, around the right price… oh well, we could’ve lost this guy so easily anyways, glad he’s back!!!

  • DKWTTY

Pau turned down a 2 year – $10 million+ plus deal from Lakers. Bye Pau!

    • lakers32

time to move on…that was a fair offer from the lakers!

      • DKWTTY

Sure was so I’m wondering where he is headed instead.

        • BULL

          New York with Melo

          • DKWTTY

They only had $4 million to offer him I thought so unless Phil moves more pieces, I doubt it.

      • BULL

thank you .. and that’s why hill got it .. smh where ever he goes he will not get that much

        • LakersOverEverything

Does he mean 10mil/year or 10mil for 2 years because the latter deal is pretty shitty

          • DKWTTY

Woj worded it weird but the way I see it was $10 million a year. They would be crazy to offer him $5 million per year.

          • LakersOverEverything

Oh ok. Yeah that was decent then. I thought you meant total

      • LakersOverEverything

Not a fair offer at all. How you offer hill almost double what you offer pau??

        • BULL

double? hes getting 9 mill two years.. they offer 10 ? wtf .. Pau is not worth it pal.. best of luck for him..

          • LakersOverEverything

Nah I thought he meant 10mil total. Hill is getting 9 per year….

    • http://kingdom-revelation.com Fabb

you think Lakers can swing a sign and trade for Pau…reports talking Pau for Boozer

  • meep

see i knew it lakers did what ever it took to get a big. pau just turn down a deal. so say hill to your new center hill

  • meep

things are looking like hill and randle are the starting bigs

  • BULL

Isiah Thomas went to the suns.. so I do not know what they are planning to do with Bledsoe

    • LakersWhy2014

sac can match, suns want deep back-court they still want bledsoe
