BREAKING NEWS: Boston Trades Kendrick Perkins to Thunder

By | February 24, 2011|

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports the Boston Celtics have traded center Kendrick Perkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder. In return the Celtics will receive Jeff Green, a young wing player that was originally drafted by the Celtics with the fifth overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft.

The Thunder will also reportedly send Nenad Kristic to Boston to try and make up for the size they are losing with Perkins leaving town. This has the chance to be a major trade in the upcoming playoff race, as the Celtics are left with a lot of questions in the frontcourt. If Boston is unable to keep Shaquille O’Neal and Semih Erden healthy this trade may prove costly.
