Backboard Breaker Darvin Ham Joins Lakers Coaching Staff – Rumors

Former Texas Tech star, Darvin Ham, will be joining Mike Brown’s coaching staff in a rather surprising hiring. Ham’s main claim to fame has been his Sports Illustrated cover where he was photographed shattering the backboard in the 1996 NCAA Tournament.

Darvin also has a history with Kobe Bryant, as he was a fellow competitor in the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest, where Kobe eventually took home the trophy.
