Andrew Bynum vs. Chris Bosh – Who’s Number 1?

Written by on 01/12/2010 in Editorials - 6 Comments

The question of Bynum versus Bosh is a prickly one at best. Both carry components that the other lacks, and both have downsides that the other could capitalize on. No matter what happens in this situation there is going to be a large amount of backlash from either side. This is why, as fans, we can take pleasure in the fact that we can sit back, speculate and consider the options without having to make the actual tough decisions. So which player would be the better fit for the Lakers, Bynum or Bosh?

Would you trade Bynum for Bosh?

While it would be impressive to get a player of that caliber, I wouldn’t trade away the team’s future to do so. Ask Jerry to open his checkbook when the season’s over, as he has done in the past….

advantages- Getting bosh would spread the floor on offense considering he could do damage at 15 feet. Your getting another Allstar that is about to hit his prime.

Disadvantages- Getting bosh would mean Pau would have to move to center, and In the near future, it would be tough for the Lakers to guard teams with Massive bodies down low. i.e. Boston-Perkins, Magic-Howard, Cleveland- Shaq. Though Pau is a good defensive player and has won a championship playing the 5, he does his best damage playing at the 4. Second disadvantage is that Bosh just doesnt play Defense. He gets rebounds, but thats because hes his team designated guy Down on the block. You can never have too much offense, but defense is also vital.

Bynum is not quite there yet in regards to his defensive intensity, and has yet to master the art of defending the pick and roll, which is why smaller quicker guards wreak havoc when they play the lakers. I.e. Tony parker getting layups like a knife through butter, and Aarron Brooks running circles around the lakers in the ’09 playoffs.

    AB > CB
    I like the kid.

    This senario seems better.
What about LBJ > AB? lol k.. that dosent make sense. But will be fun to see no. 1 kobe playing with no. 2 LBJ in a same team. (I can dream)

Let’s say AB goes to a sucky team in the east… He WILL be that man! “All STAR” Starting Center.
he will get soo many touches, his stats will pass CB!
What AB does with kobe & Pau… he is doing a great job!
I like the kid… he will improve. Keep him for the long run.
