Personally, I think it’s a desperate PR move by a player that’s trying to stay relevant. Before this little PR stunt, Amare was sitting at about 8600 followers and now, he’s sitting pretty at 11,554 (just a little behind @LakersNation).
Latest rumors are that he’s headed to Golden State for Stephen Curry or to Memphis for Thabeet. Honestly, I would like for him to stay in Phoenix with Steve Nash so they can give us some exciting and entertaining regular season basketball.
There’s nowhere Amare can go to make an impact. He’s resorted to being an outside shooter who’s reluctant to drive to the basket anymore. Amare’s never worked on his post game and pretty much can only thrive in a run and gun system like what the Suns used to run or what the Warriors currently run or dare I say, what the Knicks WILL run in 2009-2010!
Should be an interesting summer, but I really hope that Amare learns that attention comes from winning on the court, not piggy-backing off the winnings of the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers!
