Nicknames are reserved only for the greats of the greats! With Air Jordan, The Captain, Iceman, Doctor, The Mailman, Pistol Pete, Mr. Clutch and Magic, the NBA has had it’s fair share of great nicknames for it’s galaxy of stars.
Calling them by their nicknames is fun, but thinking of new ones for them is even more fun! The other day, we asked Fans of Lakers Nation and Twitter Lakers Nation to give us nicknames for Kobe Bryant other than his famous Black Mamba nickname and we were blasted with almost 150+ suggestions from all over the world in a few short minutes.
Let’s go over my favorite 8 (I picked this for Kobe’s old jersey number . . 24 wasn’t going to work):

Remember Disney’s version of Robin hood where Prince John tries to wear the crown while the real King is far away? Then the real King came back and he quivered like no other? I don’t think I have to explain this much after what happened this week!
